After travelling about 10hours reaching at the airport  opening your bags for customs officer to search into your luggage is senseless

This phone issue is just not sensible. They are just trying to find ways to take bribes from travellers. They are thieves at our ports. This whole issue will create an avenue for stealing period.

Why are they not giving us the tax percentage for the phones

These customs guys are united in their effort to extort money from travellers

All this shows that Ghana governments and agencies are ripping off it's citizens for their own personal benefits? Tell me the duty off Samsung A13 second hand

It's a lazy money grab, close the loop holes within Ghana that the politicians are abusing.

How much tax do they pay on the gifts they shamelessly collect from travellers

Mr President please do something about this mobile phone tax or duty cos that small money will not make Ghana rich or poor. We have families in Ghana and when visit, everybody want a mobile phone so if you buy phones for your family members , you have to pay duty. Most of the MP's brings in the personal valuable stuff and they are allowed to come through free without paying any duty but ordinary Ghana who does not receive half of MP's pay has to pay duty on mobile phone. That is wickedness

So all the duties on cars and all the natural resources Ghana is benefiting will not help solve Ghana problem but duty on mobile phone will solve Ghana problem.  What a shameful country

We remit money and it is taxed. Now they want more. Phones to be taxed after hustling overseas and bringing gifts to family and friends. We are helping and not the enemy. If this continues we will come with one bag and limited gifts.

The moment the public accused officials of taking money at airport there comes phone tax. It looks like revenge to me.

Which country has this law, not to have 2 or 3 phones to enter a country? Only Ghana. Comonsense does not work. How many times does the person in question come to Ghana from abroad? Most Ghanaians visit Ghana in 3-5 years. So, now you cannot buy gifts for your relatives. If the person brings a phone every month or 2-3 months, that makes sense, and you can see clearly that the intention is for business. If the phones are for family or friends, no charge.

But why are they talking about the things people will give to us,don't we have parents,siblings and friends that we can bring the phones to them?

What the officer say it doesn’t make no damn sense those offices are silly big money from the airport. It’s not the cell phone can make Ghana get money.

Diaspora’s remittances per annum helps the country than imaginable. If they are for family and not for commerce or sales, what’s the problem ? There are importers of phones who pay duties because they are conducting commerce.
