Lol I love how 9/10 times the winner seems pretty much just as depressed, somtimes even to the point where you couldn't even point out who lost if you didn't know how the game ended. Love it.
One of the reasons i gave up trying to chase ratings and victories. When i was 500-700 elo rapid, i used to enjoy chess because progress was fast. It felt good crushing my opponents and i hated losing. But after coming to 1200, seeing how hard progress is, how much effort you need to put to become better made me unmotivated. It was then that i realised that chasing victories is not the way to enjoy chess, but to learn, to understand your mistakes and laugh at them, never to repeat them again. And when i dropped the idea of chasing victory and enjoying the process instead, i started seeing results- still low, but some atleast
