As we watch the train emerge from the gaping maw of the tunnel, we see that the air is positively vibrating with insect life, which you braved to bring us a most appealing video. Wabash is a fine heritage unit. We as ever continue to generate swill to fill those traveling voids, and we never stop driving our gas-swilling vehicles. Such a lovely setting to ponder our life choices.
Thanks. Yah, I could see the black flies in your video. You need bug juice or eat plenty of garlic during Black Fly and Mosquito Seasons in New England.
Great video! The Holland Tunnel under the Hudson River is one of best engineering feats of the 20th century. John Holland died days before the two sides met under the river; his successor died trying to finish it; 2nd successor finished it. It opened in 1927, 50 years after the Hoosac Tunnel (do appreciate its engineering).
I recently returned from Italy. I took an express train from Naples to Bologna. 3 hours and 53 minutes to cover 350 miles, including stops in Rome and Florence. The train went as fast as 300 kph (185 mph) including 250 kph through an 11 mile tunnel just before Bologna. Thrilling.
Beautiful scenery and video. The mountains too wow . I can see them fly in front of the camera. They hurt worse than mosquitoes. I hate those things. They are always bad around discharged manholes. Trying to clear the main and cleaning up afterwards . Itโs amazing how those things can survive and swarm in Alaska.
