Fun fact:
If you spare the O'Driscoll in the barn, he will appear again in the mission "Old Friends", where he will be among the O'Driscolls killed by the Van der Linde gang.
He will even have a unique line to Arthur: "You should've killed me when you had the chance!"

Another snowy intro by rockstar

Dutch seems like a really likeable character so far. Completely different than in RDR1

"They turned her into a widow, those animals" seems very ironic if you've beaten the game

Seeing the Rockstar logo on a game is like seeing a "Directed by Quentin Tarantino" text in a movie.

I love how this game introduces the three main characters from the get go perfectly!
Dutch: The inspiring, strong-willed yet affectionate born leader
Arthur: The tough, gruff and somewhat mysterious guardian angel of the gang
Micah: A cold and dodgy looking bandit who ranges from unpleasant to menacing

I love how this game starts and ends. It starts with a good crew of friends, these people are ready to give their lifes for themselves and in the end, they are completely broken and lost. This game in perfect way shows how one evil man can change people.

I love how this mission perfectly sets the tone of the game. This isn’t a glorious time for outlaws where they’re in their prime. This isn’t gonna be a series of grandiose, legendary stories of rebels and outcasts who win against the odds and triumph. It’s a story of what is essentially a gang of starving, slowly going extinct animals desperately clinging to what is left of their life. It’s a somber, bitter, hopeless story with bits of joy and relief in the middle and any long-term happiness the characters seem to find is usually fleeting. This isn’t a folk hero tale, it’s a tragedy.

I love how we all thought Sadie was gonna be just a random character in the background of the gang but as the story progresses, she turns into this badass outlaw and has a major part of the story.

It just shows how these little details can make a huge impact of a game, this is definitely Rockstar’s best title yet.

That opening describing the approaching end of the Wild West era always gave me chills and really dark vibes with the soundtrack.

I can see why people would want to follow dutch.

Knowing I will never experience this for the first time again is depressing.

Rockstar games was founded in 1998. Pause at 0:04 it says Rockstar 20 on the bullets. What a hell of a way to subtly celebrate their 20th anniversary lol.
Edit: Google said Rockstar was founded in December 1998 so I was thinking based on that it would be their 20th anniversary.

Stay strong.

Stay. With. ME.

Benjamin Byron Davis's delivery on those lines is nothing short of perfect.
