Miku was playing her Signature 'Zemaitis' Guitar!  Po!

Brother, been rocking since the early 70's. These girls have become my favorite all time band. The talent is off the charts

Thank you Berry that was fun.  These ladies really are on a different level.  The thundering music with a smile.  But the range and variey of this band is incredible.
We are lucky to live in the Age of the Maid

Saw them in Atlanta in '23 and they just melted my face off.

I came back to see the reaction to Band-Maid and I'm glad I did.

Lead vocalist Saiki now plays keyboards. "Lock and Load" and the new live "Without Holding Back"

They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!

All five are dressed as maids, but they are custom designs and represent different types of maid concepts. The bassist's outfit is an "assassin maid" based on anime and manga. The lead singer's costume is similar to a governess or housemarm. The other three wear variations on the classic serving maid outfit.

They write their lyrics in a combination of mostly Japanese with some English phrases. Their lyrics use this to advantage, but you have to read the translations and learn a bit about Japanese to "get" the puns, the rhymes, and double entendres.  Between Miku and Saiki, their lyrics are as clever and complex as Kanami, Misa, and Akane's compositions and arrangements. Saiki's vocals are expressive enough that there's no need for changing the lyrics. They have written songs with lyrics all in English, but I just tell folks to think of their songs like an Opera performed in Italian. While the Maids keep telling us that they're trying to learn English, and they do audience interactions in English, they depend on translation apps to bridge the Gap. I remember a show where Saiki was doing Q&A with the audience, cell phone in hand, and you could tell she was trying to Not Depend on her phone.

Also realize that this performance of "HATE?" was about two hours into a 3-1/2 hour long Tour Final. The Maids are real performers. One the hardest working acts on the planet.

You have just witnessed Bandmaid "The Perfect Beast "

Nice reaction and welcome to BAND-MAID.  They sprinkle english into songs, but songs are usually in japanese except a few (Show Them, Bestie, a few others)  Lead guitar is a PRS and is her own Signature from them.  The rhythm is a Zemaitis and she has a couple of Signature models from them.  You'll get a lot of recommendations, but you can pretty much choose at random from their 130+ catalog.  Live versions typically are better and anything off their official website you can't miss.  Enjoy the journey!

Welcome to Japanese rock/metal and Band Maid. 🤘🤘  Miku (rhythm guitar/vocals/primary lyricist) founded the band in 2013, she used to work in a Japanese maid café, the aesthetic is her vision. Lead vocalist Saiki, wrote the lyrics to this one. Been the same 5 ladies their entire career. Kanami (lead guitar/primary composer), Misa (bass), and Akane (drums). This performance was Nov 2023 at their 10th anniversary show, a 3 1/2+ hour, 33 song concert. "Hate?" was 27th on the setlist. Like The Warning, many fans prefer their live performances over studio. The 2 bands are friends, and have collaborated together on a song called "Show Them".
Misa's bass is a 5 string, a Black Smoker from a small Japanese company called Black Cloud. Many consider her as a "lead bassist".  When you come back to them, one of their earliest songs, the one that really got them going, is "Thrill". A good look at where they came from.

Miku plays a custom Zemaitis, kanami plays a custom PRS, and Misa the bassist plays a custom spec Black Cloud smoker that does look like a Fender Jazz bass

❤Band-Maid ❤️

Since the inception of Band-Maid by the one and only Miku the Maid image has evolved to each members personality to its current incarnation which you see here.

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 13th year with the original line up. Age wise all of them are in their early 30's. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! (Seen them live four times so far).

Most songs are sung in a mixture of both Japanese and English!

Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal). They take the maid cafe concept literally. They call their concerts "servings" and their fans "Masters and Princesses". Oh, and Miku is an 810 year old small pigeon. Welcome to the pigeon hole Po!

Welcome to Band Maid.

I love it when Misa, bassist and Kanami, lead guitar have a guitar conversation.

Misa, the bass player, plays Black Cloud basses a Japanese boutique maker.
Kanami lead guitarest is the first Asian artists to have a signature PRS, given to her by Paul Reed Smith himself, she also has a 30th anniversary PRS, that she plays once in a while, along with 3 others in green, red and " Angry Larry, " a very deep red custom color.
           😏♥️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘

If they sang completely in English? They would easily be selling out arenas around the world. And they would be first ballot Hall of Fame in 2039.
I have learned my fair share of Japanese since discovering them in 2022.
They also have several instrumental tracks of different styles. My favorites:
1) from now on
2) Onset
3) Without Holding Back (Live 2025 Tokyo Garden Theater)
