The old man who sold you the Nike shoes really gave you the Mauritian price and the ice was safe to eat, I've been eating it all my childhood and I've never gotten sick.

My sister from Gordon's Bay and her husband, love to visit Mauritius. It's a great holiday destination for South Africans. I'm watching from the UK and followed your trip through South Africa with pleasure. I miss the country and it's people very much.

The peas are 'Gateau piment ' the brother of the Reunion island ' bonbon piment' . The big difference is that in Mauritius it is from chick peas and in Reunion it is from lima beans

The coconut flesh is also called coconut meat or pulp. It is a good source of dietary fibre which supports digestive health and can help regulate blood sugar levels. The Pulp/ Meat is soft in young coconuts then gets hard in older coconuts. It is eaten fresh and dried or used to make coconut oil, cream, milk and shredded coconut.
