What is a dimaagi naxal? Is the term vague, arbitrary and undefined? Or does it subtly refer to people who challenge the Prime Minister, question his policies and dispute his authoritarian ways? When Modi says dimaagi naxals must be identified and isolated is he hinting at an Indian version of the Gestapo? And would that be the most serious threat to India’s democracy and constitution since the Emergency?
