I'm 74 years old and just last summer I bought a TRANGIA27, including a B25 alcohol burner and an additional multi-fuel burner! I'm totally thrilled!

My Trangia 27 was bought for me as an 18th present = I'm 56 this year and still use it! Ive had other stoves, some cheaper and some more expensive, but I keep going back to my Trangia. I do however use it with a gas conversion most of the time now.

The magnet's a brilliant idea, thanks for passing it on.

I've got my Trangia stove 5 hours a go from Canada from my brother as a gift I'm well pleased for my gift  .

I started using Trangia stoves in the 70's as part of my D of E days. I love them and have three different types, perhaps I should do a video.

Andy, you can pick up the simmer ring using the pot handle to grip the tab of metal that sticks out of the adjusting disc. But the magnet is a great solution!

The magnet on the simmer ring is a genius idea!!!!  Great video

great video, I personally use glue to stick the smaller magnet "into" the hole on the pot handle , so it becomes part of the pot handle. Then when I want to pick up/ put down the simmer ring, I just stick the magnetic handle portion into the burning alcohol stove and it will pick up the plate. This way the magnet will not be de-magnetized due to the heat.

I have the smaller set and I really like it. The only downside with the Trangia is that it is pretty big and bulky. The wind protection is so good though, so I prefer it over smaller alternatives

Here is an idea the a YouTuber,Far North Survival and Bushcraft,  gave out that might be helpful. The blue plastic tray. You could replace it with a Frisby and take some flexible paper plates ,you put the paper plates inside the Frisby and now have solid container for your food. Once done just burn the plate, saved  cleanup and more.

It’s funny how Trangia have been around for 100 years, and still people haven’t figured out how to turn it off and not getting burned. Just pull off the top windshield and put on the lit - gosh.

I love the Trangia. It's the Russian Doll of camp cooks sets!

Had my trangia about twenty years now, replaced the frying pans with non stick ones, I have coffee sachets in the kettle too. A couple of ketchup sachets are hidden in there too 😁👍

That's a great video! I use a Trangia Storm Cooker in Japan, mainly for camping by mountain streams. It's always fun to see how Trangia gear is used in different countries.

Loved the video. Have been a Trangia fan for over 50yrs. For safety and efficiency, can't be beaten. I found a pot that fitted on top of one of my standard pots, drilled some holes in it and made my own steamer which is great for cooking entire meal in one go. Like you, i customisd my set but will never go for anything but the best every time - Trangia.

Love the magnet idea. So much better than throwing it on and flipping it off.

hell yes!
love these, thanks again for the great channel andy

I have the Trangia Mess Tin currently

Inside I keep the same Folding spatula, 2 OXO squeeze bottles (one with dish soap & one with peanut oil), MSR seasoning holder, MSR dish brush & a small micro fiber towwel

On my backpack I have the Helikon-Tex Canteen pouch attached. Inside I have my trangia alcohol stove, firebox nano, torch lighter, p38 can openers, collapsible mug, nalgine canteen bottle & a titanium canteen cup set

This is my setup that has worked for years. I live the Nomad life & everything packs up nicely

New subscriber here from Indiana, USA. I have the 27 with the kettle and like it. I also have the 28 for solo weight saving adventures. Thank you for sharing. I'll see you on your other channel soon.

I too have the trangia 27. I find your stacking method much better than the usual way.  Mine is now packed the "Andy" style.  Thanks
