I’m even more impressed with how Red Bull took a perfectly designed Adrain Newey ground effect car in the RB19 and turned it into the horrible RB20 and RB21.

I took automotive engineering in college back in the early '70s with textbooks written in the 60's with info from the 50's. That is where I learned about anti-dive. It's almost as old as suspensions. Early designers actually designed dive in before they realized how bad it was. I think it took hold in the early 60's.

Nice video! Congrats! The "anti-lift" suspension already has a technical name: anti-squat.
Problem with anti-squat is that, although it reduces floor height variations, it also increases the stiffness of the entire thing on longitudinal direction, meaning it is going to transfer load (not aero, but inertia) even quicker to the rear. That fast transfering gets the car prone to understeer and makes it more unpredictable at lower speeds.

Wish they stuck with their zero sidepod design. I think that was genius, they just didn't trust them selves enough to give them time to sort it out. Exactly the same situation with the 9X8

What I understand is that there is micro porpoising because of that the tyre is overheating. McLaren found this and nailed it. As adrian newey felt redbull and further development of RB21 brought back this micro porposing hence their performance dropped

Yeah correlation is a huge problem at Merc, but the biggest issue is just how tight the pack is to each other. McLaren are the only team where they can differentiate their pace. Every other team on the grid is fighting for every hundredth in quali because truly any car can make it to Q3 if the driver hooks it up. We are witnessing the closest pace gap in history of F1 and Merc being 1 tenth slower is causing them to go out in Q1/Q2
