Hanshin Tigers pitcher Kyohei Yuasa has successfully undergone endoscopic thoracic spinal ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament and has been discharged from a hospital in Fukushima Prefecture.

Yuasa underwent the same surgery for ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament in 2024, and after overcoming a long rehabilitation, he made his return to the first-team mound on April 29, 2025, against the Chunichi Dragons, after a remarkable 544 days.

However, this season, he began experiencing increasing discomfort in his body around the summer and noticed a decline in his performance. Despite trying various methods, his condition did not improve, leading him to make the major decision to undergo surgery again in order to be in top condition for next season.

This surgery represents a new challenge for Yuasa, but also a crucial step towards returning to the mound. Expressing his gratitude to the team and medical staff, Yuasa vowed to make a comeback, saying, "I hope to show everyone my healthy pitching again."

Will this right-handed pitcher, who never gets back up, be able to return to the Koshien mound once more?

All eyes are on pitcher Kyohei Yuasa's comeback, a challenge eagerly awaited by Hanshin Tigers fans.
