Great info thank you. Do you have a link for the longer licks video? Nothing comes up for me when you point and say this video

"Guess what genre I play?"
Lick 1: Opeth
Lick 2: Opeth
Lick 3: Opeth

6:11 -  Facts. The face is essential. 😅

Love that Kiesel.

This is pretty great. Never thought about practicing in this manner. Definitely going to give this a go.

The Keystone Lick Philosophy, has really changed the way I practice. I’ve been following your approach to isolating a lick and exploring it every time I learn something new, along with finding them in different positions and in different keys. It’s really unlocked the fretboard and I can feel it starting to seep into my improvisations.

Although I still have a long way to go, I’m finally getting closer to my guitar playing goals. Thank you for your reference to my ‘aha-moment’ it was a big one! Looking forward to your next video - see you back in the Clarity Guitar Community 😊

This is awesome! These comparisons are a great tool to grasp the idea of fundamentals

You are correct. B.B. King's "lemon face" is absolutely necessary for bending notes.

Such great guidance and important lesson.

Fantastic playing, as always.

I really enjoyed this lesson. However, I find that knowing the Key and what Pentatonic Position was the lick done in. It seems to help me view the Fretboard and understand the theory that could explain what I'm doing?  Please share...

The way you presented this information resonated with me thank you.

What an interesting, fresh and grounded video. Paradigm busting. I too have been seeing the benefit of something small practiced over and over. "Wax on - Wax off". I hope you continue in this vein and demonstrate some other examples of keystone licks in other genres. I think this was an important video message. Thanks.

Great Analogy Dr. Fludd!  I think wrapping your mind around 1 each whole note, and finding your way  through the circle, back to the original whole note on any key also provides for a "Keystone".  I just started D whole notes and derivatives.   SUSTAIN, and increased resonance  also allows the student to find other paths quite easily.

Your videos resonate with me in ways I often don’t expect. I went to join your community and got a message regarding no new member space being available. Any way to get notifications when space opens up?

You play fancy chords well!  I have chronic pain too and I struggle with them still.  I prefer single notes for that reason.

Thought all three were blues I can't even lie

Where are you hiding This Video?

You don’t have to learn any licks.

Just learn the scales and make up your own from that.

Playing prearranged licks is like speaking in memorized sentences.
