In 1996, Mike Mentzer started out on a North American lecture tour, giving seminars on his revised approach to Heavy Duty, high-intensity training. These lectures introduced his new approach to high-intensity exercise, based upon his six years of training thousands of personal clients, both in Gold's Gym (Venice) and via phone consultations and his bringing a more rigorous application of logic to bear on the topic of productive exercise. This resulted in precise definitions of intensity, aerobic and anaerobic, and a clear understanding of the issues of  volume and frequency.  In this video, Mike’s presents the fundamental principles that every serious trainee needs to know and understand in order to ensure that his training is heading in the right direction.

In addition to the above,  a deadlift demonstration is performed by Mike's client Allison Labeau (from Spencer, Massachusetts), who would later write the following testimonial on Mike’s website: “As a multi-sport athlete, high-intensity training has worked wonders for me. In fact, only seven weeks after knee surgery, I broke four world records in powerlifitng using Heavy Duty training principles exclusively.”

While excerpts from this talk have appeared on this channel previously, this is the first time that the seminar has been presented uncut in its entirety.
