I watched all the star wars movies with a friend who had NEVER seen any of them and had exclusively been a TV series person not really movies and especially not “classics”. So they were a really good blank slate litmus paper for me to observe as we did the marathon.
They loved and understood episodes 4-5-6.
They admired 1 and 2 but loved 3 especially the last hour of it. Cried at Anakins turn.
7 they were straight faced the whole time.
8 they rolled their eyes and laughed AT the film not with it especially the casino planet scene.
By the time we got the 9 I dumped a whole bunch of extra knowledge on them to prepare them lore wise with what’s coming their way. Halfway 9 they stopped the movie and actually went “I just don’t care I don’t want to finish this one”
I think that sums it really well.

I love how JJ Abrams, who hates the prequels, then uses a line from the prequels to justify his abortion of a movie.

The wreckage of the Death Star explains why Palpatine survived.

Just like the wreckage of the Titanic explains how all the passengers survived.

It’s always funny when Mauler loses his shit.

Usually he is so calm and collected but every now and then something just cracks him.

Syndrome:  "And when everyone is special, heh heh heh....   ...no one will be."

Remember when some lady said Black Panther 2 wasn't for white people? I know it's off-topic, but the empty theater reminded me. 😂

You fail to understand that Palpatine cannot be fully killed until the One Ring is thrown back into the fire from which it came.

35:27  EFAP describing Palpatine surviving the Death Star could’ve been the next Robot Chicken if Disney had any sense at all of humor or humanity.

He's quoting CinemaWins, the guy who opened his video saying that you should just pretend it's what you want. Nice.

It could have been worse. At least Palpatine didn't turn into a black blob of ooze, roll down a hill and get carried across Middle Earth on a cartwheel.

Reminder the Death Star was fueled with kyber crystals. In TLJ we saw Rey and Kylo cause an explosion ripping apart anakin/luke’s lightsaber with one tiny crystal.
They harvest Jeda and stuffed the Death Star with TONS of Kyber.
No one survives. Not even Palestine.
Edit: I meant Palpatine but that auto correct is too funny to correct.

Palpatine's family after Episode VI: "Can we see him?"
EMT: "I literally could not show you him if I wanted to."

"Hmmm~ I don't mind the taste" Argument.

I’m still waiting for the fan animation that follows palatines adventure down the shaft, hanging onto that pole, landing on the water, doggy paddling to shire, carving a knife, and making Snoak clones after killing all his fish friends.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the generosity of people like this? They do SOOOO much work to write Disney's movies for them, absolutely free of charge!

I saw TLJ 3 times. 1st I was drunk and liked it. 2nd I was drunk with my ex fiance family and thought it was ok. Then I went to rehab. I saw it again and hated it lol.

The only thing that’d make it worse is if he said “Princess Leia survived in space with the force, so obviously Palpatine did the same.”

Efap "Hightlight"
Over two hours.

The way I like them

Someone needs to animate Palpatine's survival with the guys narrating their thoughts of what happened as the explanation goes.

At this point Spaceballs is less ridiculous than star wars
