Hello, friends! This is the first episode about our trek across the Ukok plateau in Altai. We spent 19 days in this beautiful place.

We've wanted to visit the Ukok plateau—one of the most unique places in Altai—for at least ten years. And now it's happened, and how! Ukok gave us an encounter with the main hero of Altai—the snow leopard, which we'll show in future episodes.

The expedition was planned for 19 days, but while packing, we realized that the food allowance for that time would make our backpacks too heavy, so we only took enough food for 17 days, hoping for a successful fishing trip. Thus, from the very beginning, our team's lead fisherman assumed a great deal of moral responsibility for providing the group with food.

While we'll show the encounter with the snow leopard in future episodes, this one features an encounter with a wolverine, which came practically head-on to us on the trail. Taras even managed to catch it with a quadcopter on the mountainside.

In this video, we'll answer one of the most frequently asked questions about backpack weight and talk about filming equipment. We'll also show you the snow-white peaks of the South Chuya Range and Ukok's main mountain, Tabyn-Bogdol-Ola, fords of icy mountain rivers, and our camping lifestyle.
