The Story of BioShock: Part 5: The Underwater City

This is the entire story of BioShock, explaining everything in the entire franchise. Not just one game, oh no. This series will explain EVERYTHING. Past, present, future. Alternate timelines, universes, cities. PART FIVE!

You might be able to tell that this is only about an hour. That's because this series is episodic! Check back in next week!

Special thanks to my narrators: Jack Tanner starts it off. due to some complications, I have another narrator, Private Creeper, pick up where he left off. Rapture's story is much longer than Columbia, so you will hear a combination of Jack, Private, and perhaps myself. Check out Private's channel below. Also, please check out Magic, who did the Columbia portion.

the narrator is not bad, but by the minute 48 he starts to slur his words and there is a strong and notorious lisp that can be hard to undestand

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to narrate for the beginning of this episode, and im sorry I was unable to complete the hours quota. Private creeper did well to pick up where I left off in such sort notice, and I thank him for it. I will return later on in this series it burn your ears with my monotone British accent, hope you all enjoy Rapture.

the one speaker sounds like one of the middle school kids in a sitcom with a lisp

What a beast of a project this is. Alot of you people don't understand the amount of work that went into these videos. They rather criticize something they don't like about it rather than praise for the whole work of art they accomplished. Great job to everyone involved. To the person who got backlash, we "real people" want you to continue to narrate because we understand The only way to get better at something is to do it. No harm done. And again, the people that complain about such things don't have any content at all. Haters are gonna hate for what they couldn't create. Those people are afraid of criticizim. They are parasites.

I love the layout of everything in these videos. Professional, good looking, weirdly time appropriate. It's pretty damn epic.

absolutely brilliant, the gold standard by which all other Bioshick lore videos should be judged. you're a boss

This is great but unfortunately the second narrator is a bit hard to listen to and understand. Could use some work with public speaking. Still very informative and don't mean to insult anyone

I completely appreciate the work put into this video. It's awesome! My only complaint is the pronunciation of names and places in Rapture. It hurt. Good job on this!

59:51 seems like RODIN was this universe’s earliest example of a quantum computer.

54:27 I swear that's the vault tech guy from Fallout 4.

Great video!

Man, after all this time I've only just got around to watching all of these. Wasn't there an expansion for BioShock Infinite? Wasn't this included?

Dude, I absolutely love this video series. This is my favorite franchise of all time and it has been helping me fill in major plot holes, so I thank you for that. I apologize if I was a tad harsh, but I wasn't knocking him for his accent. It's not about having one in the first place which was my issue, it was just being able to understand what he was saying although I KNOW the text was clearly on the screen. I basically just personally proffered the Infinite narrator is all. "Obnoxious" was a strong word on my part I suppose. I don't wanna condemn one's character. Again, thanks for this series and I'm still gonna finish watching regardless.

I watched all these 5 episodes in two days. I love the Bioshock universe and I'm happy that these video's help me get the complete story. I couldn't play the games because I lack the reflexes you need for shooter games. As pointed out before, the man that narrated Infinite whas better to understand then the person that started on Bioshock, but if you read along with the voice, it's very doable. Good luck with the rest! I'm looking forward to it.

Great format and so very informative, but so many names were butchered. Tenenbaum, Fountain, Suchong, Antoine, Brougham, etc. Also the second narrator was much harder to understand.

Thanks for this series. Bioshock has such a great story. Unfortunately Private is very hard to understand when he talks. A bit of a lack of annunciation I guess. The first two narrators were great, but now I have to read to understand what is going on (yeah I'm lazy :P ). In any case thanks a lot for all the hard work.

This is a great summary of the BioShock universe. It was well presented. Thank you for making it. Great work.

I DO NOT CARE if you have a problem with the narrators in this old project. It saddens me to think that some people still take the time to write such insults. I understand that it could've been better, but not everyone is able to do the perfect narrator voice. If you have a problem with that, then DON'T WATCH THE VIDEO. Because at the end of the day, these are colleagues of mine you're talking about, colleagues that were the only ones that were willing to record a dozen hours of script writing. We did the best we could. If you can't understand it very well, then either read it or just give up. Sorry, that's all you can do. You guys really tempt me to just lock up the comments, but I want to keep them open to actual discussion of the content. So please, if you're thinking of leaving a nasty or long comment about that, keep it to yourself. You're not saying anything new or novel.

I'm so thankful for all the hard work you and your collaborators all put into this series. I love the Bioshock series so much and have always been fascinated by the lore in it's universe. These stories are so great to listen to.
Thank you y'all a bunch.
