In this video, Five Colors of Travel takes you on a culinary journey to one of Delhi’s most iconic and busiest state bhawan canteens: the Andhra Pradesh Bhawan (and Telangana Bhawan). We explore how these official administrative centers have opened their doors to the public, offering a professional and well-organized dining experience that has remained popular for over a decade. To help you plan your visit, we guide you through, that the nearest metro station is Janpath Metro Station in Connaught Place. From there, you can take a short auto-rickshaw ride or enjoy an 8–10 minute walk to reach the canteen. We also recommend using Exit Gate No. 2 for the most convenient route.

The highlight of the experience is the famous Unlimited South Indian Veg Thali, priced affordably at ₹220. We walk you through the entire process, from collecting your token at the entrance to waiting for your number to be called, which is necessary because of the massive crowds this place attracts. The thali itself is a complete feast featuring dal, two types of sabzi, chutney, curd, a sweet dish (dalia), puri, papad, rice, rasam and sambhar. While the food is unlimited and refills are encouraged, we also highlight the strict rule that sharing the thali is not allowed. For those with a bigger appetite, additional non-veg items such as chicken curry, fish and biryani are also available at extra cost.

Beyond the food, we showcase the vibrant culture of the bhawan, including the famous “I Love AP” sign at the entrance and displays of Telangana sarees and traditional art that beautifully represent the region’s heritage. We also share our personal favorites, including the home-style dal and the popular ₹20 sweet paan, perfect as a post-meal digestive.

Since lunch is served only during a fixed time slot from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, this video covers all the essential information, including the fact that no ID proof is required, making it easier for you to plan your visit to one of Delhi’s most famous and affordable state bhawan canteens.
