I thought you were going to do HRCYED 😂

@deeelleee 1 month ago

Thought you were doing an entire version of HRCYED in one video. The relief I felt for you when it was the page count. 😂 I couldn't complete HRCYED in a year. Lol

What I love about this is that it essentially is a mood reading vlog. As in: your mood chooses the next read and it shows. It was such a good collection of books and genres that seem to reflect your reading taste.
I hope you find more ways like this where you essentially mood read (even if you won’t call it that) and just have fun with your books.

hey meg i know you’re getting conflicting comments about this but genuinely from experience just have patience when it comes to the kitties 🩷 my mum and my sister moved in with each other and they each had a cat that grew up as single kitties and it took actual months if not at least a year before the cats got along. it’s been a few years now and they actually play with each other, groom each other, snuggle and nobody in our family would’ve ever thought it would get to this point as they did NOT get along in the beginning.

No reading vlog for a month and then two in the same week!! Oh boy I’m sat!!

I always feel so insecure about whether I'm being a good cat parent or not, whether I skip a day of scooping litter boxes because of back pain, or they get scared by something I did, or I accidently trip over one of them- it feels really reassuring that I'm not the only one that gets anxious about that kind of stuff.

I think this challenge would be easier with reverse page count order, so subtract 50 pages a day

I absolutely felt dread and hopelessness when introducing my cats. I cried more over them fighting than just about anything else in my entire life. It took months but it did finally work out, and now they are friendly. The biggest change I made was giving a truly insane amount of treats to them while they could see/smell each other and I think eventually they were like “ugh here’s this cat I hate but who summons Churu tubes and I guess that’s fine.” But you are not alone! The stress you’re feeling just shows how much you care.

As a catmom of two girlies that HATE eachother. I want to assure you you are not failing either of them. They have a good life. They're sisters. Sisters fight. As long as neither is in danger, they are getting love, food, a roof over their heads.. you are doing amazing

Hugs Meg! With the whole kitty situation, do your best but remember you are human and that is ok! They will be fine, if they get ignored for a bit when wanting attention, they will survive. This will be a great learning for you if you want kids (and they will push your buttons intentionally and manipulate you intentionally to get what they want.) Take a breath do what you are able and know you don't have to be perfect to be a good cat mom. They will be ok and love you!!

KJ Charles is my favorite author and I agree this was not the most memorable of her books, alas! My favorite of hers is probably Any Old Diamonds, which has a lot more layers to the plot and characters.

It took about 3 months for me to introduce my 2 cats to each other. I lost hope several times, but now they tolerate each other fine, and occasionally even groom one another!

I'm sorry about your kitties and wish I had answers for you. Genuine question: do you have a library system you could join? I know borrowing books doesn't help get your physical TBR down, but I often see you bemoan that you can't read a new release because you can't buy it, but why couldn't you put it on hold at the library? i can't imagine the pressure of having to buy every book I read, and physically at that. of course i have no idea what the state of your local library is, especially what their digital selection may be like, but getting a library card personally changed my reading life so I can't help but encourage others to do so
