📋 POST-UPLOAD NOTES 📋
I missed the mark on duration and the model doesnt quite advocate enough for pvp healers. In the future, I'll split videos like this up into pieces - e.g. one to introduce the core method, and then one interview per video. Hopefully parts of it are still helpful for you!

🕒 Timestamps in the description as always, including some here:🕒

16:31 Interview #1: Osa (Semi-casual - PVE oriented - Roleplayer)
36:26 Interview #2: Dqve (PVP oriented - Ranged - Skill expression)
48:54 Interview #3: Theo (PVE oriented - Melee only - Tank enjoyer)

If 1vX PVP was high on your list and healing is even a little bit interesting to you - TRY DISC PRIEST!

Build on the model for yourself! Create your own questions as you come up with them, people have already thought of tons: class sound design, cooldown reliance, having stuns in the kit, having strong escape potential, etc etc

My method of picking a class is far better than all of these others. You choose whatever raid armor set looks the coolest before giving up on the game before you ever obtain it 😂

I like choosing my class based on the looks, so the added question of aesthetic preferences mattered alot to me :D

This is the most interesting approach I’ve seen. One of the struggles with this decision is there’s no way to test your class at the upper levels. You may like it, and it may feel good when leveling, but when you get to 60 it doesn’t feel the same to you. Cheers on the great video!

I like this for the hype but for a lot of people choosing a main is more about the feel of it than the think of it. Keep up the good work, sir!

I'd like to add, if I may, the No-Lifer Method: You will play one of every class and at least four of them will be your "main."

It's wow forever..... I'm going to main every class and collect every profession....

Nice man! This was a really helpful video <3

I'm so glad to have found this video. I had narrowed down my choice to about 3 of the 9 available classes and got completely stuck, but thanks to this patented and proved questionnaire, I've now managed to narrow my choice down to only 5 of the 9 classes. Thanks octy!

Incredibly well put together video, Props!

Amazing video, method and spreadsheet, thanks a lot ! Still stuck trying to decide between ele sham and good ol' warrior (both flexing between tank and dps) but your method really helped

You have a great talent for bringing some objective structure to a otherwise subjective and undefined decision! Really love your method and I think you could only come up with such a method with some pretty extensive playtime. Great stuff man.

I’m going to Main them All Forever & Ever & Ever 😜

Highly structured analysis. Thanks

2nd guy is litterally in boomkin form irl the entire interview giggling

Great video worth all the effort mate!

How do I get the spreadsheet to work?

I enjoyed this 😊

In essence WoW has 4 basic playstyles: Tank, Healer, Melee Dps and Ranged Dps.

If you can answer with certainty which of those 4 playstyles you want to engage in the most then you already are very close to finding your ideal class.

Since most players don’t REALLY want to play tank or healer (the ones who do want to play tank or healer never have difficulty choosing their ideal class) then it really boils down to if you prefer ranged or melee dps.

Melee dps is more high octane; requiring more buttons to be pressed per minute, more changes in positioning, more situational awareness and split second decision making. Players who enjoy action RPG’s more than spreadsheet maxing turn based RPG’s will tend to prefer melee dps.

On the other hand if you like slower, more methodical gameplay then you should play a ranged dps. It’s perfect for players who want to press less buttons per minute and enjoy playing strategy games or turn based RPG’s.

Everything else after that is just flavor. Maybe you like to dps most of the time but sometimes like to heal or tank; well then you pick a hybrid that lets you do those roles. It’s really that simple. Follow those principles and more likely than not you’ll end up with a class you’ll enjoy.

If after you’ve answered these questions you’re still split between a few choice, then just pick the one that has the coolest looking  tier sets in your opinion available and that will most likely get you down to 1 option.

Nice video, I'd like to test this out of curiosity :D
