During World War II, young Norwegians from the south defied the occupation and set out across the North Sea in small, open wooden boats. They became part of the "England Traffic" – the escape routes from Norway to Great Britain – where many traveled to continue the fight for freedom.

In this documentary, we follow the story of these brave individuals from Southern Norway and Agder. We delve into the archives, meet their descendants, and recreate the perilous journey from Kristiansand to Buckie, Scotland – in a tiny open boat on the high seas.

This is a film about war, courage, freedom, and resistance. It’s about young men who took a life-threatening chance during the occupation. It’s about those who made it, those who were captured, and those who never returned home.

How much courage can you actually fit into a small wooden boat?
