“The planet Dirt, do you know where in the galaxy it lies?”
“Third rock from the Sun. Can’t miss it.”

"We introduced the alien translator to the English language and it killed itself."

The alien doesn't know what we are, the puppy girl doesn't know what we are, I'm beginning to think that nothing knows what we are.

"You come from the planet... 'Dirt'?"
"Oh, 'Earth'.  I prefer to call it "Terra" though, to match the theme."
"Very well, Dirtling."
"...off to a great start."

15:30 Generally speaking, diseases have a hard time jumping between species on our own world. When taking aliens into account, it's INCREDIBLY unlikely that any of them will have ill effects on any species that our diseases did not adapt to infecting.
If there somehow is any cause for concern, one could simply test it with certain potentially suseptible species and come up with proceedures for interactions between humans and them if it is deemed a safety concern.

Yk I'm gonna be present when the function got the: audio where the listener is an entity that is unfamiliar to the speaker and is curious to know more so they perform experiments and collect data 🔥🔥🔥🔥

First contact means more beings to cuddle

Girl don't even worry, I barely know what I am XD

Woah, way to ask and answer a question that most philosophical minds have struggled with for years.

Thanks for this ig

Reminds me of "Humans Don't Make Good Pets," a story about aliens finding out about human microbiome the hard way. Among other things.

Omg the translation mixing up Earth as Dirt is genius and hilarious.
This kind of attention to detail is why I love your channel. So much thought into every single word.

while carbon based life would defiantly be the most common across the universe the top contender for an alternative is silicone which can form the same four way bonds as carbon just in a weaker form
silicone life could live for thousands of years but be limited in body size due to the weak bonds meaning most silicone life would be worms that eat silicate rocks

I am a proud Dertling

Physically, I know what I am.

In terms of species identity, I very much do not.

But I fear that explaining alterhumanity would also lead to learning what a stroke looks like in an extraterrestrial.

She’s doing her due diligence, making sure everything is logged and we don’t accidentally introduce a whole bunch of diseases they may not have an immune response to.

Also, I love that even these highly advanced, spacefaring aliens are still using clicky mechanical keyboards. They got good taste too.

I've always heard of folks saying that Oxygen makes humans like walking flame throwers, but ive never really heard or thought of as walking plague factories.

Alien: If you have sentience, then respond to my inquiries
Human: No! Hah! How the turned have tables!
