They’re so cool.

They’re like that person that’s so outwardly cool that you think they must be a superficial jerk, but then when you interact with them they’re actually pretty nice people who you want to be friends with despite being intimidated by their innate, effortless coolness.

So cool.

A key point is when you use the multi attack your casting a cantrip spell with an action. So as long as part of you attack action your casting true strike or something congrats you get to activate song of victory. It’s a strict upgrade

Song of Victory states you must cast a spell which takes an Action to make the attack. It does not say you must have done so as a Magic Action.

Your Extra Attack cantrip must also be a cantrip (spell) which normally takes an Action to cast.

Song of Victory WILL come into play almost every round, if you have an enemy nearby to swing at.

Bladesingers are just those NERDS who got too into anime and think they're swordfighters

I think you've misread Song of Victory. It also triggers when you are casting a Wizard cantrip as part of your extra attack, as you are casting a Wizard that has the casting time of an action, even if you are doing it as part of the Attack action. So what it really does is let you cast a spell with a spell slot and make a weapon attack as a bonus action OR it lets you make a minimum of 3 attacks a round (True Strike, attack, bonus action attack). If you grab Weapon Master and choose a weapon with the Nick property, then we are talking 4 attacks a round, which synergizes quite well with your Conjure Minor Elementals (or Spirit Shroud, if the mood takes you.)

My favorite thing about the new bladesinger is that they can use a magical staff and make attacks with intelligence. My dream is now to one day have a staff of power on a bladesinger.

The cantrip you cast as part of your extra attack is still a spell with a casting time of an action, triggering the lvl 14 feature for a consistent bonus action attack every turn. This does mean some options are a bit redundant like the Dual Wielder feat and non mastery Two Weapon Fighting, but it is an increase in damage still. Even better than the 2014 +int under most circumstances.

While loosing “robes of leather” sucks, not having to spend 3 levels as an artificer to make your Blade Singer is SAD more then makes up for it.

And there still is the old Bracers of Defense if you still want to get up there while you wait to get the   Robes of the Archmagi.

If you aren’t concentrating on anything else, use blade ward as your multiattack cantrip the first round

People missed the fact that'll casting a cantrip with extra attack wizard can do 3 attacks at 14th
It doesn't specify it has to be a lvl 1+ spell

The level 6 feature lets you cast an anction cantrip as part of extra attack.  The level 14 triggers on casting a spell with an action.  Aka you an extra, an attack cantrip, and a bonus action attack every round.  Seems like 3 attacks to me if you use True Strike for example.

Song of Defense : the condition is only "when you take damage", so it is pretty obvious that it is not just about melee damage and that the Shield spell will often be useless ...  Anyhow, thematically (so in addition to being useful), I think it is a nice feature.
Just for fun (not a reaction to your video): while this could be strong on an enemy NPC for example, they are burning their spell slots.  It seems reasonable since this is a Wizard and this is not stronger than fighting a pure martial NPC.

A humble request for a bladesinger build.

All I car about is getting proficiency with more than one martial weapon, that's all that Bladsinger needed and while I will gladly take the rest of the changes I am just happy my Wizard can collect a slew of magic weapons they can use.

I love haste cantrips. A third level spell that adds speed, AC, and a cantrip really feels good and elevates the bladesinger even at higher levels when cantrips scale.

I need to say it. The art is so fucking gorgeous.

I like it, but adding a weapon mastery would have been nice touch, as well as an exception for elven chain. Oh, well.

I'm surprised they didn't add green flame blade or booming blade to the book, though.

Always thought of Syrio as a Swashbuckler Rogue. Maybe if he was a Bladesinger, he’d have not lost to Meryn Trant 😅

The cantrip limitation on casting time is to prevent a Autognome Bladesinger from spamming Mending during combat.

The change does make it more interesting when it comes to feat selection. Dual Wielder was basically a must have, but now (if you consider your cantrip attack working with your lvl 14 feature) you kinda get it way later. I’d really like if there were more feats that increased intelligence that fulfilled the gish archetype. In the new heroes of faerun, there are a lot that increase DEX and Charisma but I wish they had included intelligence (since this subclass came out in it too)
