Sue Johnston stars as Sue in the BBC sci-fi sitcom Ann Droid on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The six-part comedy series is written by Diane Morgan and Sarah Kendall.
It follows the poignant and chaotic friendship between an aging, recently widowed woman and her state-mandated artificial intelligence carer.

The series is set in the near future of 2029. Sue's husband passed away 18 months ago, and her only son, Michael, decides to move out to repair his failing marriage.
To ensure his mother can still live independently, he leaves her with a surprise gift: a second-hand "AnnDroid Z58/100 Basic Eldercare Robot" named Linda.
Though Linda is designed to monitor health and alleviate the burden on the NHS, she is socially inept, overly attentive, and incredibly invasive.
While the machine initially becomes Sue’s worst nightmare, Sue quickly figures out how to use the robot to her own advantage, leading to a touching and funny "buddy comedy".

Sue Johnston as Sue, the grieving but sharp-witted widow.
Diane Morgan as Linda, the deadpan, stiff-moving humanoid eldercare robot.
Paul Ready as Michael, Sue's stressed, long-suffering son.

The series also features appearances from Danny John-Jules, Margot Leicester, and Rupert Vansittart.

The show is produced by Boffola Pictures and Witchcraft Industries.
