I appreciate this documentary but this is saying that all the natives died. Dale can you speak to the elders at Canaries who are of native descendants. And the people of Darban Saltibus. As I said I appreciate this wonderful history of some of us in St. Lucia but for the rest of us....it robs us of our identity. This history is the version of slave owners....I think it is time we move from that.

If the caribs were extinct how comes there are still descendants living today??

I am a descendant of caribs, we still here

"mother England" indeed. 🤣 History is told and written by the slave owners.

The name of this island is Iyanola. The Colonisers called it St Lucia. Thats like kunta kinte telling everyone his name is Toby even after he's free..  🤦🏽‍♂️ its high time we learn our history from our ancestors and not slave owners... mother England 🤦🏽‍♂️
Aitina Kalinago... we are still here

Grenada ,St Vincent, St Lucia and Dominica were Carib as !! while the bigger islands like Jamaica, Cuba, Dominica etc had Arawak Indian just to add

So far so good. Unfortunate though that  Flore Bois Gaillard's rebellion which led to one year of liberation from slavery isn't mentioned. Plus the creole language, in addition to having French & British influence, is also derived from African & perhaps indigenous people's.

always amazing NO LIE world class documentaries on untold stories.

Absolutely great work . This guy is so good at what he does .  Looking forward  fot part 2.  Blessings on you Mr Elliott.

I was transfixed watching this well-researched documentary, as I am half St Lucian & half English, my father's family hails from Dennery I have been there twice, coming from the UK I found the abject poverty juxtaposed against the gated communities  extremely disturbing in an old-school Christian country, this is a story of a bloody hell on earth but with a happy ending of freedom & liberty, triumph over adversity, the Caribbeans must be some of the most tested, robust & stoic people on Earth, what troubles me however is how so many St Lucian buildings are built on narrow stilts on such a hilly terrain with this history of repeated earthquakes & eruptions, I often wonder what goes through the architects & construction worker's minds when planning these precarious structures, I have stayed at Mont Fortune, my Uncle owns a 'bourgeois' gated property there, and my cousin lives in in Tapion Estate, it is an idyllic location if you are well-heeled, god help you if not, the corruption & nepotism there is blatant, sa ka fet garcon

I am really happy and grateful for the wonderful documentary that have been put together—it’s way more appreciated than having no form of content on the subject at all.
Shout out to all those you took part in this wonderful work; We love, bless, and appreciate you.

Love this documentary, been looking online for ages for ones like this about the history of Saint Lucia, especially about the Amerindians need more like this 💯💯

Very helpful. Thank you for this.Good to know the history of our island

My own mom who is %100 St. Lucian had no idea that we came to the island as slaves and still finds it very difficult to understand because it was never taught to her in school or by anyone for that fact.
My grandmother rejects it altogether, I don't think she even likes Africans because of her backward religious beliefs.
White Jesus can do no wrong so if it ment being forced to worship a white man in order to be saved then that's what must be done in her mind.
Shouts out to the original inhabitants of Iguana Island.
They helped us a great deal when we would run away into the forest.
I'm a mix of both African and Carib and very fuckin proud of it.
It's stands as defiance to the colonial powers.

I have native Indians on my great grandmother's side, they're from Soufriere. They don't look like Tonto, but they look like what they're supposed to look like, native west Indians. My grandfather's name is French Huguenot.

Wonderful presentation.Untold stories continues to produce the most significant journalistic presentations of our existence .Keep up the excellent work.
