British drama is superb and period drama is an insight into what life was like. Thank You for putting it on 👍

Living lives of quiet desperation. That pretty much summarizes a Thomas Hardy character.

In the old days if you were poor , it was required that you picked up dirt off the ground and rubbed it into your face . Great Program

Great story. Characters are all complex and all caught in a web of the time. I do love that the British dramas show the dirt, unlike the American stuff that is always unrealistically bright and shiny. Going to probably binge these 🙂

Thank you so much for this, especially the great print. I recall watching these as a young girl on BBC2. They made a big impression. Very well done

Finding Edward here reminds me of when I watched 'The Day of the Jackal', at the scene where Charles Calthrop (my first Hardwicke role without the moustache) got arrested - that awkwardness I felt to see him without the Dr. Watson moustache!
