We’re running back Pantera next week again… Far Beyond Driven

I can tell the dude in the middle is a true Slayer fan. He's listening to the drums while the young dudes are just hearing guitar.

The 10 reasons list was absolutely incredible

3:31  "This is tits for your ears"  best quote ever

Got to do “South of Heaven” next, they ‘slowed’ it down a bit, epic songs; drumming is some of my favorite Lombardo

The top ten reasons why little man isn’t here was great lmao

My favorite thrash album of all time

Just for further clarification on Hanneman's death. He died from cirrhosis of the liver from drinking over the years. After the necrotizing fasciitis from the spider bite kept him from being able to play guitar as much, he begin to drink more and it caught up to him, unfortunately. He was the reason I picked up a guitar 33 years ago. I have a few of his guitar picks from shows in the past. I also have their first album, show no mercy, signed by all 4 original members and my baby...ESP Jeff Hanneman signature series guitar.
Excellent album to react to. This is one of the most influential metal albums.

I like when you guys bring people to tell the lore of every album, I think that it gives context and it helps to understand the album as a whole

DO ACID BATH-When the kite string pops!!!!

With all due respect, they are NOT a one trick pony. Some of their later songs have a lot of dynamics and complexity and slow, brooding tempos that make them even more brutal sounding.

If u guys like the slower grooves then you’ll LOVE South of Heaven.  It’s my favorite Slayer album for that reason.

The first breakdown in metal was Children of the Grave by Black Sabbath (1971). I’d say the big switch-ups in energy in metal music you hear are owed to Black Sabbath. They do it a lot on their first four albums, tho most of the time they sped it up, but Children of the Grave is one of the exceptions where they slowed it down.

Another banger! Thanks again fellas, l'll do the show anytime 🤘

Slayer wasn't the first to do anything on this album - but they were the first to perfect it and turn it into a genre.  Which I think is more important.  Without Slayer we don't have modern Metal, its as simple as that.  And the main reason is because they took what Heavy Metal and Hard Rock of the 70's was doing and merged it with Punk and Hardcore.  Turns out all those things work really well together.

You guys gotta check out their debut.

3 of the big 4 out of the way… you boys know what that means

Among the Living awaits you

First breakdown is probably something along the lines of the 3:18 mark on the song “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”. It came out in 1973, and we all know the Iommi’s playing influences a large amount of guitarists in the generations after him.

Teach them boys my man... EDIT: That's a solid Ringworm album btw. Nice shirt

Legendary opening track, legendary ending track, wall to wall thrash.
