Today we’re experimenting on this weird little Flat Out 442 hatchback thing… and honestly, I still don’t fully know what category this car belongs in 😄

The whole goal for this build was to test some layered candy paint ideas using decals buried underneath silver, candy blue, and clear coat to see how much detail would still show through all the layers. Somewhere along the way this project turned into custom axle fabrication, epoxy engineering, weird chemistry experiments, and me inventing suspension technology at the workbench like a complete maniac.

This one definitely leans more into experimentation than restoration, but honestly those are some of my favorite projects because you never really know what’s going to happen until the clear coat hits.

Also… the homemade M2 axle tunnel trick actually worked way better than expected.
