I've said this before on another creator's  channel, Australia and New Zealand are more isolated then America yet they seem to be able travel around the world.

I haven't travel out of Britain. Never had a passport.  But I know the countries of the world.

Stop using "isolation" as an excuse Australia is far more isolated, they are the most travelled nation in the world. We can't get a train to anywhere, we're the same size as mainland usa. Isolation in no reason it's an excuse that holds no weight.
Aussies do learn languages, Japanese, Mandarin, Indonesian are on offer in many schools, I'm English & speak French

Dumb or lack of knowledge if different. Looks more like poor education in most times. But somehow Americans are proud of the lack of knowledge.

It really says something if you can't name three countries other than your own. Here, even a four-year-old can do that!

With the availability of the internet there is not a single excuse for not knowing other countries anymore.

When a COLLAGESTUDENT dont know whats the CAPITAL of US I say I rest my case!

There are stupid people in all every country. The reason it stands out more from US Americans is the sheer arrogance that comes with it, in a lot of cases. The doubling down, the refusal to accept they're wrong or don't know something. The confidence with which they'll say something totally moronic.
The Dunning Kruger effect. Many of them genuinely lack the intelligence to even know they're dumb, they actually think they're clever.

Then there are the ones who are proud of their lack of knowledge and have no desire to learn or grow.

Greg, you're not one of them. You may lack knowledge on certain topics (we all do!) but you know your limits and more importantly, you're continuing to LEARN. That's what matters.

Most of the Inventions the USA boasts about were stolen from other Countries!

Lack of travelling is really no excuse. We learnt geography in school which included where which country is located, what their capital city is called, where the major rivers and mountain ranges are and so on. We didn‘t get to know the world by personally travelling to each country.

Brussels is the capital of Belgium, where the Administration HQ of the EU is based.

Under‑educating people about the world so they never learn other ways of doing things, and removing their ability to think critically, has exactly the same effect as what dictatorships achieve through propaganda. It makes people live in an illusion about reality, which weakens their judgment — and that is precisely what politicians want. Because selling the illusion that your country is “the best in the world” becomes much easier when people don’t know anything else.
I can also use a metaphor: imagine that from infancy you were fed only oatmeal every single day, with added protein and vitamins. You could survive on it, and you would believe that this is how things are supposed to be, simply because you don’t know anything else. People would accept it. But you would never get a 14‑year‑old to accept that if he has eaten food from all over the world — he would protest on the very first day because he instantly knows something is wrong.

6:50 - Not everyone  in Europe has seen other countries either. We actually LEARN, that's the difference. Learning gives us the knowledge and opportunity to plan travel and go places.
10:43 - I think the difference is the Brits are well aware of the bad rep.. Brits drink a lot in groups and are known for loudness and drunkenness, Germans..known (historically) for getting up early and stealing the sunbeds,  Spanish for just being rude in general and the French...well.... each European country learns about their neighbouring countiries and historically is likely to have had a war or two with them..there is allowed to be local opinions but most counties are educated about their neighbours or at least make an effort (until the drink takes over for the Brits ..haha) unlike the dumber Americans we hear about.
11:12 - Most Europeans DO learn another language.  In the UK it's usually 2 additional languages.
23:12 - Sadly... that's religious brainwashing.. America is not a Christian country...The U.S. Constitution explicitly prohibits establishing a national religion

I haven't traveled around the world either, but I know where all the countries are, so the fact that you are surrounded by water is probably the worst excuse I've ever heard....

It was Ernest Rutherford who split the atom in Cambridge (UK), not the USA.

Instead of being isolated, the sense I get is that there is an apathy in an isolationist environment.

Most Australians (and NZers) can atleast find 3 South East Countries, most European countries, half their flags, more than likely point to atleast 3 US states and so on. And we're so more isolated than USA.

It's very telling that he can't critise anything the USA does without having a go at other countries too. It's like he's scared of being labelled anti-American lol.

Just be happy you're in Spain now.

About religion: the prosperity gospel (pastors living it up while their congregation live in poverty) is something that the USA exported which is why it's now prevalent also in Latin American and Africa. Grift isn't exclusively an American thing but the USA does excel at marketing, packaging and shipping it around the world.
