I'm a dentist. Id reccomend using the water flosser a bit closer and best to do it in the shower as part of your routine (you won't worry about it going everywhere then). Just do it by touch and feel and you'll eventually get the hang of it! You will get some bleeding as you likely have some gum disease, but preserve and it will settle down. If the gum disease is t stabilised, you may find you get some recession or bone loss around the teeth and eventually that can lead to problems (pain, infection, mobility etc)

Id also use some superfloss under the bridges daily. And some interdental brushes between the crowns. The best time to do this is another time of day to brushing to help you stick with the regimen! So keep some in your car, office, coffee table! And just have a go whilst your watching Netflix in the evening or something (basically find a time you can build it into your routine). That's been shown to be the best approach in studies.

Also worth seeing a hygienist for air flow if your gums don't stop bleeding soon and repeat treatments every 12 weeks until stable

Tips for folks using water flossers:  If your sink is small, bend over your bathtub instead.  You can stand or kneel at the tub.  No tub?  stand up at the shower stall.  And of course, as others said, you can use the portable water flossers while you shower.  don't try to look in the mirror.  You can definitely feel the pulse at the gumline so just trace the gumlines by feel. Trace both the inner and outer gumlines!  Go slowly and pause between the teeth.  Don't forget to do behind your last molar, or wisdom teeth, if you have them.

I've had to have a number of Crowns, as I have a condition called EDS that affects my enamel, and so my teeth break very easily, having Crowns is the best decision ever, and they have saved my smile! I think yours look great, they're not too white as some others have said, I wouldn't have even known you'd even had Crowns if you hadn't made this video, I just think you had great teeth, as they look fab! Xx

This was really informative. I am at risk of losing a couple of teeth due to grinding at night. I was told it would cost between £5k and some dentists can charge £10k PER TOOTH. Your dentist was incredible and so helpful. I don't blame younger people for going to Turkey or similar, there literally is no choice. Thanks for sharing. My be getting a water flosser to try, just for the laugh if nothing else.

You're right about algorithms Gareth cuz I don't know you and at first couldn't understand why your video came up on my feed. Then I realized it was a cruise ship video and then up came yours. I thought maybe I might be able to help with keeping your veneers & crowns clean. I'm from the USA and I've had veneers & crowns for about 36 years and just had them re-done 2 years ago.

Ok...on the water floss/waterpik device. Put it all the way in your mouth, close it and then gently run it along your gumline; stop the device when your mouth gets full, spit, and then continue. I find I need to spit 4 or 5 times. But, when your gums are inflamed, I'd hold off on using it cuz even at that lightest setting, I found it very painful.

Ok...something else that may help your gums. I swish or swirl warm salt water any time I might have a flare-up. Maybe twice a day or many more if you can find the time.

One more thing that's made flossing simple for me...I found this product on Amazon a few years ago and it's great. It's called SuperFloss and Oral-B makes it. It's a little box filled with precut floss and at one end of each piece is more firm mimicking a needle. When your crowns or veneers are close at the top, this floss helps you pull through the bottom of your tooth near the gum and pull through the gap below where the two teeth meet at the top. It also helps to stop having to saw it between your two teeth and when it finally gets to the gum, you're seeing stars from the pain from going down so hard. There's virtually no pain doing it this way.

I hope this might help a bit. You're very talented. Make sure you shrug the trolls off. They have to be miserable in their lives...they're so awful...😖

Also sorry another top tip!! Warm water in the water flosser helps with sensitivity.

If the teeth themselves are sensitive using the flosser, get your dentist to prescribe some duraphat 5000ppm toothpaste because you might have some exposed margins/root surfaces. Or could try a latest generation sensitive toothpaste

Another video of yours came across my algorithm probably because I’ve been watching cruise ship videos. I’m a retired dentist from the US. I froze both the before and after x-rays in this video and I went back and watched portions of the video of yours came across first visit in Turkey to see what your teeth looked like before. So my unsolicited opinions: Most of the work done in Turkey absolutely had to be done. The exceptions for me would be MAYBE the lower left 2nd molar and upper right 2nd molar didn’t need crowns but it’s hard to tell by just a panoramic image. I don’t think the lower incisors and the lower cuspid that was not attached to a bridge needed treatment. You mention in both videos wanting them to match so I suspect it was an esthetic choice on your part to have the lower anterior treated because you choose a very white color. If you asked my pre-treatment advice which you obviously haven’t and I’m perhaps a little arrogantly offering anyway, I would have tried to urge you to accept a more natural color for your teeth that matched your lower anteriors while also pointing out that lower incisors naturally are a shade more yellow than upper anteriors. Admittedly, in the first video of yours I watched my thought about your teeth was “His work looks pretty good but a little too white which was probably his choice not his dentist’s.” Yes, we do notice people’s teeth all the time. And … we tend not actually like too white teeth. In your case, it was a big clue you had crowns or veneers. I might not have noticed if the color was more natural. That said: Probably 90% of the population will say your teeth look perfect and want their teeth to look like yours. Still … I’d urge anyone in your position in the future (Needing crowns on the upper front teeth and having healthy lower front teeth with no restorations or caries but really wanting a lighter color.) to maybe try a few sessions of bleaching on the lower anteriors then choosing a color one shade lighter than the post bleached lower anteriors for the upper crowns and match the color on the lower crowns/bridges… it won’t look like “shite.” Anyway, the color issue is admittedly dentist nitpicky; your teeth look nice; but it can bug us to see healthy teeth filed down for crowns/veneers so I think that was what the UK dentist was referring to. I don’t blame the Turkish dentist though: it probably wasn’t realistic to have the bleaching sessions by the time you showed up and ultimately it was your choice to have a really light color. (But maybe someone considering vetted dental tourism to get some bleaching sessions before going if they have “virgin” lower anteriors that otherwise would not need treatment.)
On the work done in Turkey:  … it looks better than your previous dental work. Caveat: I don’t know how old your previous work was. I don’t know what it looked like when it was first done. I don’t know what the conditions were when it was done. I don’t know what compromises were made because of unknown situations: eg whether some things were intended to be temporary or patch jobs. The root canal treatment that was done on the right lateral incisor is less than ideal. It’s the sort of thing that can be a problem in the future … OR it can be just fine forever. Both the Turkish dentist and the UK dentist were right to leave it alone but it’s worth noting to monitor. I did notice the “overhangs” on the upper 2nd molar crowns right away before she mentioned it; but I wish I could see bite wing X-rays. Panoramics can show more distortion and exaggerate overhangs. I’m  not sure if the panoramic was used to explain things to you and bite wings were also taken but not shown in this video. I’d also want to know if an overhang can actually be felt on probing. That said, telling you to focus more on oral hygiene back there is good advice in either case. ETA: Another thing I did notice watching this video and parts of the first visit to the Turkish dental office. The Turkish dental office had you wear a lead apron for your panoramic while the UK office did not. It’s not really a huge deal … the radiation is less than most people think and probably doesn’t reach that far but it is standard to use a lead apron for panoramics here.

They look great now ... But what about when one by one over the years they come lose, fall off, crack or just fade to off white?  I have one Crown and it needs replacing every 5 or so years.  I could not imagine doing that with every tooth top and bottom.  Even if your own teeth are a bit crooked etc you are ALWAYS better off with your own teeth.

It's fair play for anyone going to Turkey to get their teeth fixed but this is generally because they can't get an NHS dentist, so it's a bit of a cheek using an NHS slot to have his own private dentistry work checked over
