Nice video! As an MEP electrical engineer that actually produces these types of drawings, I feel you covered them very well - specifically how you point out referring to the symbols and abbreviations, and how the "keyed notes" tie to the drawings. You even threw in some "design tips" such as the different types of emergency lighting (generator, inverter, batteries, etc). Nice thorough review!

I spent 40 years in the trades and reviewed thousand of prints. Now I am preparing the drawings for a simple home renovation and needed to see some electrical drawings for a reminder. This video was perfect for me. It would have been nice to see forty years ago, but we didn’t have the internet. Thanks!

As someone with previous construction experience but very little electrical understanding, electrical drawings looked like gibberish at first glance. This video has helped me the MOST in providing the flow of reading and beginning to understand the drawings. Plus it made it super easy to follow along when showing how to refer to legends/schedules etc. The thing that helped the most was understanding how everything works together which was so hard to piece at first when trying to learn on my own. Thank you!!!

wow thanks , fake it until we make it right?! learning lots though. I have an part time MEP drafting job but I am mostly a structural drafter, you make this easy to to get going. I kind of want to go to electrician school just to be a badass multi disc drafter.

Question. Can you show how to refer to arch drawings for wall details. Meaning how to find out how thick the wall is so we know what size of mud ring to use.

Thank you for creating these presentations. I just discovered your channel and it's really helping me. I do have a question: for small residential projects, would you draw lines connecting lighting fixtures to their respective switches, or use a symbol at the fixture and identical symbol at location where you want the switch? Is there a reference you can direct me to that illustrates this?
