South Korea Facing a Demographic Cliff; if things continue this way, there are concerns about the nation's extinction!
Right now, once again, EBS discusses South Korea's ultra-low birth rate.
The low birth rate is not a social 'phenomenon,' but the 'result' of all the problems our society faces.
In the current situation, characterized by a birth rate rarely seen anywhere else in the world, Ultra-Low Birth Rate: Golden Time presents a direction for the discourse needed to resolve this issue.
The production team focuses on the question, "Why are we unable to have children?" rather than the question, "Why are we not having children?"
Viewing the low birth rate not as a social 'phenomenon' but as the 'result' of all societal problems, the program proposes a direction for society for the generations to come.
Across six parts, Ultra-Low Birth Rate: Golden Time reveals various realities of how a South Korean society, consumed solely by fierce competition without a moment to look back, has made it so difficult to have and raise children.
It also explores ways in which society must change to create a society where pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing are possible.
Part 2, "Children Who Have Lost Their Families," takes time to reflect on the true meaning of "family" in a society where "money" is cited before "family" as the most important value for happiness.
It examines how children who must grow up "on their own," moving between after-school classes and private academies without the care of a family from a young age, come to understand the meaning of "family," and predicts what kind of adults they will grow into. ▶ EBS Documentary Post : https://egloos.com/ebsyoutube?utm=you...
