They all died in the same way they did in the rap:
-Alexander died while drinking at a banquet, whether it was poison or he drank himself to death is debatable
-Frederick was found dead by his retainers on a chair.
-Pompey was beheaded when he was about to give a speech.
-Catherine had a reputation of being promiscuous so her political opponents made up a story after she died about how she passed away while fucking a horse. Since it was a lie, she didn't die in the battle either
-Like Alexander the Great mentioned, Ivan died while playing chess, so Catherine checkmated him.

I personally feel like "Look alive, creme de la Kremlin's arriving. Try to serve Ivan, no surviving." Is top ten all-time ERB bars but no one ever reacts to it. The wordplay is crazy

The most ironic thing about Catherine's "It takes a Russian to beat a Russian" line is her actually being German and having been married into the Russian Line of Succession.

Best disses: Catherine
Best rapping: Alexander
Best flow: Frederick
Best gangster: Ivan

"oblique attack tactics aint exactly straight" might be the most clever bar they ever made, reference to frederick's rumoured homosexuality as well as the complexity of oblique attack tactics, genius
EDIT : Apparently Frederick was just straight up gay, no debate about it according to the replies, i just assumed its never been confirmed because i didnt think anyone was walking around recording the dude giving people the prussian slurper 9000, but hey I was wrong before and I’ll be wrong again lol

It's fun to know that Catherine's victory against Ivan was also a win for Old Fritz. Fredrick the Great was one of those who conspired to send young Catherine to the Court of the Russian Empress, where she was set to marry the heir of imperial Russia.

Pompey absolutely killed it in this one. Like, this is just a demonstration of how blatantly biased ERBs can sometimes been.
He wins so much in this one that he often wins other battles.

"Two... A hundred fifty comments."

He doesn't believe in us lads.

The "You're a land rover, I'm a land expander" line is underrated. Alexander's empire fell shortly after but Ivan's Russia is still the biggest country on Earth. Low key de marco!

If you didn’t catch it at the end there when she said “Checkmate” that was a throw back to when Alexander called out Ivan for dying during a game of chess

"Look alive, creme de la Kremlin's arriving, try to serve Ivan, no surviving" is one of the most underrated bars and one of the hottest word plays in all of ERB.  Not "creme de la creme" but "creme de la Krermlin". Good ass writing.  If you try to serve Ivan in this battle you will not survive. Put together with the intro beat, fake Russian accent, and delivery...Dope ass bar.  "arriving", "serve Ivan", "surviving"?!?!?   That's a Non DeMarco in a good way!!

So Ivan killed all of them as they were killed or at least reported to have died historically. Alexander was poisoned. Fredrick died on his chair, Pompey was killed before he gave a speech (so kill him before he raps). The horse line to Cathrine from Ivan was in response to her death her enemies said that she died having sex with a horse. and Ivan was a hardcore drunk and crazy and died playing chess.

Personally i think Alexander was done really well since he was reported to have never lost a battle straight up. so he slaughtered Ivan.

This is still my favourite ERB.

All of Ivan's parts are excellent in terms of advancing the battle and bringing about the "deaths" of his opponents, because he's the only Great who would assassinate all his opponents. But not only that, his initial verse is just really top quality even by ERB's standards. Great punches, schemes and flow.

Alexander's verse is probably the best written and best performed in any ERB ever. It's just insane writing, insane rapping skill and great punches too.

Frederick's verse demonstrates Lloyd's syllable control and in 12 bars also demonstrates ERB's ability to make more musical raps work.

Pompey's part is hilariously historically accurate.

And then Catherine's verses take the musical elements of ERB to another level altogether. "Empress to Tsar 8 bitch, checkmate", what a fuckin killshot

"your nothing but an overrated lush"

Ivan calling Alexander "overrated" would have cut Alexander deep. The reason some people think/thought that Alexander the Great is overrated is because the army he used to conquer the "known world" was built by his father Phillip II. It was Phillip who, thru a series of military reforms almost completely restructured and reorganized the Macedon army, substantially changing how it fought.  Alexander benefited greatly from Phillips changes. Phillip also made efforts to ensure that Alexander would have intelligent commanders and generals whom Alexander could know and trust. He did this by not only sending Alexander to be tutored by Aristotle but also sending a number of sons of Macedonian nobles to be educated alongside Alexander (essentially having them grow up together with Alexander).

I'm not saying that I completely agree with calling Alexander overrated,  these are just some of the things people point to when they argue that he is.

Teacher: what do you want to be when you grow up.

Me: what about a flute bustin Prussian

Look alive, Creme de la Kremlin's arrival🔥

I got so excited at this notification! A few of the lines about Ivan:
"Get a huge sack like Novgorod (4:13)" Ivan ordered the city of Novgorod attacked and there was ~2,500 casualties
"I would pay a guy to tear out my eyes (8:47)" After the palace in Moscow was built, Ivan ripped the eyes of the architect out so that he couldn't build something as beautiful
"Stuck a spike through your own son (10:41)" After Ivan beat his daughter-in-law, him and his son got into a fight, and Ivan hit him with a staff, accidentally killing him

I did an entire project on Ivan and used this song as the opening. Great job as always man!!

DMX "Where da hood at"

The "pay a guy to tear out my eyes" at least partially a reference to the famous painting "Ivan the Terrible and his son Ivan", which depicts Ivan the Terrible cradling mortally wounded some, whom he is believed to have killed. Famously, in 1913, a schizophrenic man was so distressed by the tragic and poignant painting that he slashed the painting with a knife, over Ivan the Terrible's face.
