The goat has appeared in my recommended again

I think it's important to note that these measurements are by weight and not by volume. Ground coffee is only about half as dense as water, so if you measure by volume the ratio will be very different. F'rinstance, if you only have Imperial measure containers, using, say, one cup of coffee to one quart of water, 1:8 by volume, will give you a much leaner end product.
The reason Morgan can interchange milliliters of water with grams of coffee is that at room temperature one milliliter of water weighs one gram. Imperial measures don't have such an easy conversion.

"Coffee agitation stick" is such a weird way to say "butter knife".

I've started mixing cinnamon into my coffee grounds before making a cold brew and it adds a delightful flavor without the hassle of a bunch of hydrophobic cinnamon floating on the top of the drink!

I've never been great at decerning flavor profiles for coffee, but I've accidentally grinded coffee that I intended for cold brew at espresso grind and ended up making an iced latte with both the espresso & cold brew to compare the flavor since it's the same blend and it's insane how earthy and smoky the espresso ones tasted like compared to the fruity cold brew! Definitely prefer the latter for an iced latte ^^'

i've been making cold brew at home for years... We generally brew it in a 2 quart mason jar with a 20-hour refrigerated extraction time and filter it twice through a bar strainer. It's incredibly easy. We've tried inserts and bags, but just dumping the grounds and water together in the jar and straining at the end is so much less work, and so much more effective for extraction. i shake it immediately, then 15 minutes later, and, if convenient, several hours later. Brew time and temperature will have differing impacts on specific coffees being used. We have also found that alkaline water helps extraction without increasing acidity.

A small note on the Mason jar: If you have a coffee subscription and need this much cold brew, 2,720 grams of water is 1:8 with a 12oz/340g bag of coffee.

Glad to see something's never change, MorganSpillsCoffee

1) Love Morgan's hair
2) Tattoo sleeve looks sick
3) Hario pitcher rules
4) You can make good cold brew with bad coffee

Cold brew is so good and so accessible. I used to make cold brew just using two carafes: dump grounds in one carafe with cold water to steep, and then just strain the whole thing using a pour-over filter setup into the second carafe. So easy.

james hoffman and you in a coffee brew off

I've used a filter, but I've also found it just as easy to make cold brew without a filter. The grounds sink to the bottom, and you're left with delicious nectar.

I've also had the oils separate out and solidify in the fridge - coffee butter!

Oh I have been using a french press to make cold brew, and oh boy I have been drinking it without diluting it, no wonder I liked the kick it gave me.

Great info!  I tend to just pour the grinds and water into the jar without a filter, then pour through a metal washable filter into a new jar when ready.

Would you be willing to do an episode on cold brew tea? Like green, black, and herbal.

It's funny how just last week I was watching your french press video where you had a comment mentioning you'll probably make a dedicated cold brew video sometime in the future, and, well, here it is!

Lil tip for those feeling lazy but still a bit adventurous: you can literally swap your dilution water for sparkling and it'll taste very nice, with a flavour profile eerily similar to that of a whiskey highball. Add an orange slice or a sprig of mint to that (or don't) and you got yourself a drink that's one step above a standard cold brew, but requires zero extra effort.

Love this video, for a reason Cold Brew is something that most households doesnt make, even though you can reheat it if you like a normal coffee. Btw I make ready to drink Cold Brew as I cannot be trusted to have so much concentrate I tend to overdrink coffee if I do it😂😂😂 is my self restraint to ration it as is less coffee ready to drink

THANK YOU for giving this recipe in a form that allows for different container sizes!

when Morgan was standing behind the open mason jar of coffee, I was waiting for her to pick the whole thing up and start chugging.

Boy, it would take some time to come down from that!

Thank you for the information that cold brew is less acidic.
