I think we can’t underestimate the role of the Middletons in William’s life. As I recall, William used to spend weekends and evenings with them after Diana died. I’m guessing that the normalcy of their family provided a comfort that William did not expect.

I find that William and Catherine have brought Royalty into modern times. Just to live in a home without servants is a huge change. The working Royals take their responsibilities very seriously and I hope British citizens understand and appreciate their contribution.

I once heard it described, "Diana was a rock star, Catherine is a princess." I think that sums it up perfectly, and that is why Catherine is more suited for and happier in the role of Princess of Wales.

She (Diana) was emotionally immature which she never overcame. She also used that hang-down look for attention. You see it in so many situations and elicited sympathy. She had other qualities but was a deeply flawed person.

Diana was caring and had a way to connect with people, BUT she was also erratic and lacked emotional regulation, which is a nightmare combination for most men.
