One of the greatest film scenes of all time. This movie came from another dimension, I swear. Based on an amusement park ride, yet almost perfectly executed, fantastic acting, CGI that looks great to this day, and a godly soundtrack.

The music is just super intense when the kraken begin attacking the ship

Gotta give mad respect to the crew, they didn’t have any supernatural power to aid their fight but they didn’t run and fought till the bitter end.

3:01 That shot looks straight out of an old woodcut or medieval bestiary.

THE KRAKEN MONSTER

Structural Compromise: The immense force of the main tentacles is required to snap the Edinburgh Trader in half and immobilize the vessel. By destroying the ship, the Kraken eliminates any structural defense the crew might have. The creature uses its massive tentacles to crush the hull (1:44-1:50) because the ship is a large, sturdy structure that requires immense force to breach.Selective force: By using the main tentacles to compromise the Edinburgh Trader, the Kraken forces the crew into a state of panic, making them easier targets.
Coordinated Hunting: The smaller, more agile tentacles you noticed are indeed used simultaneously to pluck crew members from the deck. Versatility: Once the ship is immobilized and breaking apart, the Kraken immediately utilizes its smaller, more agile tentacles (2:03) to pluck individuals from the wreckage.
