【What is the Cassiopeia?】
The Cassiopeia is a luxurious sleeper express train with all A-class sleeper compartments and two floors, which began operation in 1999 as the first of its kind on the JR network. It primarily operated between Ueno and Sapporo, but its retirement was decided in 2024 due to the aging of the vehicles. This is your last chance to experience this rare journey.

It’s such a shame we will never get to experience proper sleeper trains again. A locomotive on the front really takes the case unlike the current time where nearly all sleeper trains are multiple units.

宇都宮の人間としてはあまり縁が無かったですが、乗ってみたかったです。

僕には高級過ぎて、縁遠い電車でしたが。
今回は昼間やから、カード争奪戦をせんで逆に良かったと思いますよ。
弁当は、膝痛くなる位の高カロリーで、GOODです！
僕は雷鳥・白鳥でじぃちゃんばぁちゃん家行く時、鱒寿司（土産用）と冷凍みかんは車内販売でマストでしたが、この時期は車内が鬼クーラーで冷凍みかん食べてたら、途中で寒くなるんですよ。
冬休みに行く時は、丁度エエ塩梅でしたが。
５時間は、あっという間にですね。
庶民派ITSUKAさんの動画で、乗った気分でいてますわ。
