The crazy part is that there was no fault code for that. I don't totally agree with Dave's claim that most of the diesels don't have throttle valve, I think a lot actually do have it. I had a 2004 1.9 CDTI and similar problem. The car was driving but in a limp mode. No codes, even with the scanning tool hooked on live while driving. Guys at the garage had no idea what was going on until another mechanic came to work who actually had the very same car with exactly the same engine and when he was told about my car right away he said it was the throttle valve. Usually those parts are easily exposed in the engine bays with easy access and it's like 20 minutes replacement job. Why on earth the cpu can't highlight a burnt actuator is beyond my understanding.

Blessed are you to have built this business so wealthy folks can get their toys fixed. My opinion is cars and trucks are just not reliable like they used to be anymore. To everyday people, they’re a money sucking scam today.
