We do everything we can during the ten weeks of summer to get ready for the 10 months of winter.

You did a good job on facts but as a Mainer born and raised, your pronunciations needed work.

I have lived/traveled through much of the State.

The part of Maine that gets overlooked includes not only Millinockett but the area that follows US 1 from Houlton/the Northern end of Interstate 95 to the end of US 1 in Fort Kent.

This is the fertile heart of Aroostook - THE County.

During WWII this is where potatoes came from.

It is a slower pace than anything SOUTH of it.

YOU FORGOT THE MILLION DOLLAR VIEW? !

I've lived in Maine for 25 years now.  Raised two boys here.  I'm shocked after 25 years how much of the state I have yet to explore.

I wouldn't trade Maine for anything. Military family here.  We did 30 years traveling and searching what could be the perfect place for retirement.  Maine was home.

Born and raised!! I love it here! the best summers in the country. With all the seasons. Lift your truck for the winter and go anywhere. Bring on the snow!!!

Our winters are nowhere near as bad as the upper midwest.

It is an extremely beautiful state with vastly different populations.  Never thought I’d find a state I’d love a state more than my home state.  So much to do, so much to learn!  Never thought I’d see such incredible flowers and healthy vegetables.  Never thought I’d feel so Happy!  Life is GOOD in Maine,  people so kind & generous.

I myself came here from Illinois in 2004. My visit planned for 2 years. I loved it right here so much, that I never went back.  My permanent Home is Here Now.

Born and raised in Maine all my life and I'll die here as well
I

I’m from Maine it’s so cool. Vacation land

born and raised in Maine, this is the most honest and accurate doc i have ever read.  Well done!!!

I live in Millinocket, Maine about 16 miles south of Mt. Katahdin, we are remote and have much in common with Canadian provinces like New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

I know that the movie Stand by Me was based on a Stephen King novel the body, but what I love is that it was supposed to be based on the kids going through railroad tracks in Yarmouth, which is something that my dad and his friends did as kids. He grew up in Portland which is where I live now, but I grew up in Gray so I only explored the tracks once or twice as a kid, but my son likes to go off on Long explores on those tracks with his friends now

🤣I literally saw my house I'm sitting in,  as I watch this...
I waivin!!!

I went to the Hinckley School in Hinckley, ME in the early seventies. My first “wife” introduced me to her 6,000 acre family estate in Phillips in my mid twenties. I have continued to travel to her estate and Rangeley all of my life. When I die, my ashes will go into two separate ponds in the Phillips area. Her pond on the estate and Beal Pond that looks up to backside of Sugarloaf.
I still have friends from Hinckley fifty plus years later. If you’ve never been, you definitely need to check out ME.

my brothers and i are a little Maliseet but canadian maliseet so its french indian.

when you say first in the United States, you need to add "Continental" to that - Guam is the first place in America to greet the new day, and they pride themselves in that.

Maine's independence and its constitutional rights are being stripped away day-by-day. By Janet Mills and shan bellows and the other democrats and independent politicians they call themselves independent but they March along with the Democrats.
