This actually does work, left it for 90 minutes. then did a test print and realised it required one good clean. 98% perfect lines after that. Thank you

So glad I came across this video! It was a pretty urgent need to get my Epson XP-440 fixed (black ink clogged and self cleaning function was NOT doing anything to fix it), OR end up buying a new printer; you ended up saving me a few hundred $$$ and valuable time too! I didn't have ammonia on hand, but mixed whatever else I had around (isopropyl alcohol, distilled water, and a tiny amount of windex), and it worked great! Thanks so much!

This worked like a charm on my Epson XP-960 - I'm shocked, amazed, and grateful. I used 91% rubbing alcohol at a 2 to 10 ratio with water (because I don't have any ammonia), left it for about 2-3 hours.

Took 2.5 days using your procedure and cleared up a crazy clogging situation on the P600. No need to take that crazy machine apart and seemed pretty simple to do. Thanks for making the video. Top notch and easy to learn. 🤘

My Epson clogged the Matte BLK printer head after I switched to Photo BLK which I hadn’t used for years. I’m talking zero bars on the Nozzle Check Pattern—did about 10-15 cleaning cycles. Nothing! I switched the blacks back and same. Zero from both BLKs. This was 3 days ago. I did what you suggested. Left overnight. Twice! Then for a couple hours this afternoon. Dude! It’s all bars minus two little gaps. I can deal with that. I can probably get it completely cleaned up with a few printouts and another cleaning cycle. The amount of stress I had was unreal. I have a deadline and small business and this printer is everything. So expensive, but no other option. Thank you so much!! I subscribed and looking forward to seeing your other content! 😎

Also I’ve using my Epson P600 for years and hadn’t been a clogger IMO. Not like the predecessor R3000. I had two of those and just clogged all the time and it made dirty prints often. Hated it. Previously I had the R2400 which worked great almost no issues. I recently bought another NIB Epson P600 because of what was happening and maybe speed up my process by 2x.

New Mac and the only issues now is the outdated utility and printing preferences aren’t saving on the new OS. Other than that it’s all great. Always have to work around some BS, but that’s how it go

1000 x thank you. Was on my way to buy a replacement and the store had closed already, so I thought "Why not!?" and gave your tutorial a try. It took two go-arounds and a bit of ink, but I am currently printing like there is no tomorrow. Saved us €€€€€€

Thanks! Going through the classic purchase debate Epson P700/900 vs Canon 310/1100 and the all have their unique negatives. With the Epson it was the print head issue where replacement cost for new print head was the cost of a new printer, making the existing printer an expensive door stop. This resolved that issue, moving Epson to the top of the debate.

I owe you a beer, thanks for this tip! I used some windex mixed with some screen cleaner for TV screens. Used 1 slip of cardboard and 1 paper towel and did this 3 times. Now printing great 10mins later. thanks!

Thank you for making this!! I went a little more rogue, not using a syringe or anything precise like that. I liberally covered some paper towel in pure methylated spirits and left that for 15 minutes and after a few self clean cycles, it is good as new.

Thanks soooo much! Saved me $1000 in new printer! Didn’t have ammonia but had a glass cleaner with isopropyl alcohol. Worked beautifully, 2 hours on print head, nozzle clean followed by a number of nozzle checks after cleaning, to get rid of lines. Cheers!!

This is a great solution! Had terrible color issues on my SC P800 after all I've tried so far THIS fixed it instantly. Just used a simple cleaning liquid for Epson printers (ordered on amazon), let it soak for 2 hours. In the end a final print head cleaning in the menu. After that all the prints where perfect. Thanks again for sharing this important information!
