I would love to see a 10-year follow-up video.  That would be very interesting

I grew up in the foster system, moved 14 times by the 8th grade, put myself through college, never smoked/drank, nor did drugs & my biological mother was a prostitute, no one ever knew who my biological father was, but this documentary lets me know that there are some real great parents out there supporting their children through whatever they need, being there for them no matter what.  How beautiful their relationships are even though there I am sure some tough discussions.

david was in the war trenches this entire documentary jesus christ, hope things are better for him now

When was this filmed? I'm so happy to see an Aussie trans doco. I transitioned myself well over a decade ago. I couldn't be happier and more comfortable :)

OMG that is NOT the way you give an intra-muscular injection. Whoever trained the mum did it wrong. Never give one like that to anyone. You stand the very real chance of damaging the sciatic nerve permanently and causing an abscess because it wasn't put in the correct place. Also never put the needle in slowly as that hurts too much.

Interesting documentary. I hope things got better for David. This seems like a hard time period for him.

If anyone in this documentary reads these comments, just know that you have people out there rooting for you and wishing you all future happiness in your journeys. Mean comments come from smallminded people who don't respect you, but if they looked into their hearts they would know that you are human too, and each experience is one in a whole universe of possibilities. You are valid. The future needs you. Keep finding what makes you happy and willing to live. Don't give up on the living - even yourselves. Thank you, for existing and being online. Representation matters ❤

It was obvious that George wasn’t happy.

I feel sad for all the bs that David had to put up with.  I hope things have gotten better for him after this documentary.

the comments here are so ignorant and close minded...sheesh!!  be whoever you are/want, its your life and your happiness. i will always fully support trans and the queer community until i leave this earth.

Self love self care respect

I’m just thinking 🧐 that needle💉 was BIG like a 14 gauge. The one that you use for blood donations. 😳 ouch

I am a post op transsexual and yes I would say it’s even more difficult to go to female from male.

Never hide the person you are for anyone you have the right to be in this world in any color shape or form that you feel comfortable in you should have the right to be able to say this is who I am except me and it’s OK it hurts to see people trying to put children into one mold and expect them all to be that one mold at the end of the day each child unique each person is unique and we need to remember children each and everyone God‘s blessingour special in their own way, and we need to accept them for who they are

Why aren't they competing and winning in high level male sports?

Sciatic nerve damage.

People do not understand that a caterpillar  can actually grow out of its cocoon and transform into a beautiful seagull.

People just do not understand🤷

I dont understand why people are so cruel about transgender people. The comments under this video are sad. Everyone wants to just pretend that trans people shouldnt exist. Its really alarming.

Great documentary! Thanks for sharing.

I love to see that people are so supportive of their loved ones in transition, which is I am sure means a lot and very important for transgender 🏳️‍⚧️ and gender non-confirmed people to do and feel better in life. Society needs to be educated about it to help lifting stigma and transphobia.
And David’s mom needs to be re-taught about proper site for intramuscular (IM) injections: needle goes into the buttock’s outer upper quadrant. Keep the needle out of the buttock’s mid/central part, the danger of hitting a large nerve (sciatic) I very real and very chronic to deal with.

I hope you know that I’m jealous of you, but I’m jealous of you because if I see somebody that has two moms to dad to me that means the double blessed, I lost my mom when I was really young and I would’ve given anything to had her again I would get anything to have one mom but you be blessed with you. That’s amazing and I’m so happy you have somebody that has your back when you needed to. God has truly blessed you. Yes God bless you.
