Too bad they don't make movies of this good quality anymore. Good acting, solid and profound underlying story lines, complex characters.

The casting and acting is phenomenal. The actors playing the kids were great too, especially the actress playing the eldest daughter

In my opinion, this movie is much better than the Netflix series based on the same story. Meredith Baxter gave a brilliant performance as Elisabeth Broderick, alongside Stephen Collins as Dan; their dynamic felt very true to real life. That said, Elisabeth stated in interviews that she didn't wear as much jewelry nor was she as pretentious as the film portrayed her. Personally, I feel Beth acted out of a wounded ego and didn't consider her children when she killed her ex-husband, but she paid a heavy price for her crime, spending the rest of her life in prison until she passed away earlier this year, in 2026.

When my ex left me for another woman, I forgave him and her. He left her again for another woman. Today I am friends with the woman that was the reason for our divorce. But truthfully.. he was the reason. I found my peace the minute he drove away. He left our home after 14 year marriage May 20, 2009, when our kids were 4 and 7. 2 beautiful daughters. I pray today that he reconsile with his daughters (he wrote them off after his current wife drove a wedge between father and daughters.)

I have a relationship with Jesus Christ and that is what gave me the peace I still have today. 17 years later ...

Still this is a shocking story ... self destruction 😢

It is fucked up literally for someone to support someone else in a relationship until they get to the highest level and then they ditch you that’s dirty.

My Dad and Mom fought like cats and dogs when I was growing up. They should never have married. My mother was city girl and a lunatic and my Dad a paranoid suspicious rural man with little or no education but they stayed together just tolerating each other in later life. It has left phycological scars on me and all my siblings. My two sisters marriages ended in divorce and I never married as I knew it would go the same way and I did not want to be dealing with that.

Dan should’ve stopped antagonizing her using his legal thing his friends to strip that woman of everything knowing that if it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t be in a position that he was in. He should’ve just gave her whatever she wanted and then quietly walked away.

This movie left out important facts about the story! Betty was mentally abused by her husband for years!!! Im glad netflix showed the truth! This movie didnt include the true facts!
