The fact that half of the songs is the lazy sampling section are muted because copyright infringment is ironic

The sped up Kendrick verse had me dying💀💀

Talking about lazy samples and not bringing up anxiety by doechii is criminal

the worst trend for me in music is the over reliance on sex, nudity and sex appeal. theyd rather use those to get clicks instead of making the actual music good

I'm just now finding out that I've never heard  the entirety of radioactive because I had no clue there was a rap portion of it.

That's not indie music, that's folk pop that the average audience called "indie"

1:54 genuinely the worst

first time I heard it I got excited because I genuinely thought they just played Blue, only to be disappointed after a couple of seconds.

The key word in all of this is "trends". Almost none of these are inherently bad ideas on their own.
The reason people hate most of these is because after it worked for someone, heaps of other people bandwagoned on board and drove the idea into the ground until everyone was sick of it.
And it's overwhelmingly Pop because as a genre itself it's incredibly susceptible to trend chasing and going where the current interest is

I legit thought I was being a hater with the (im blue remix)

Pop music had so many rap features during the early 2000’s (when I was growing up) that I thought that was just what pop music was. Like I thought for a song to be classified as pop it just had to be a catchy song with a rap verse near the bridge.

1:05 Taylor Swift also used "I'm too sexy" sample too in her "Look what you made me do."

I never heard it called "whisper singing" and that's spot on. One of my most hated styles.

The other one is the male version where it's not like whisper, it's almost like a groaning that they make with their mouth shape. Almost like smokey the bear

i can’t lie i don’t think i could ever hate the hipster music era lol i feel nostalgic for it even though it eventually drove me insane

A lot of these songs are like Weird Al Yankovic without the humor or self-awareness.

i dont mind whisper singing, i just think Billie Eilish did it better than the ppl after her lol

The king of unnecessary rap features is the one in Bring Me To Life by Evanescence. The band hated it, it was the label's idea to put a rapper in there because it was trendy at the time to combine rap with rock/metal. The band made a new version without the rap 20 years later.

PS. I LOVE whisper singing.

6:23 Ho hey if it was sung by Alvin and the Chipmunks

11:31 i space out for one second and ellie goulding is on screen, got so scared my goat was about to be dissed 😭

2:23 Ripping off Micheal Jackson is one thing, but don't you dare steal from Weird Al!

One of the worst trends is when artists start using fake accents in song like Drake with his Jamaican accent in the “if you’re reading this, it’s too late” era or Nicki Minaj is a couple other songs too
