I'd like to mention that in the first encounter of the dungeon, whenever we light up the correct symbols and finish the statement on the center wheel, there is text that says "The Pyramid recognizes truth" or something along those lines. I think the reason why we have to put the lie into the wheel to break the boss' shield is because we want the pyramid to reject our statement, so that the security mechanism in the room goes off and burns the boss' shield.

I love that even in his method of inscription, Oryx follows the sword logic, for putting a pen to paper would be to gift it with ink, instead, he chooses to strike the surfaces of the tablets, taking from them in order to scribe his truth.

Dude. The books of sorrow are why everyone loves the Hive tbh. The storytelling in the passage that explains how Auryx becomes Oryx is some of the best theyve ever written.

rhulk locked oryx’s crayon away :(

I love the way Evaze describes Orxy’s chisel: “Imagine you found the pen that God used to write the 10 Commandments”. Considering how much weight the Hive and the tablets hold in the lore, that’s a pretty accurate description.

"To forge their own destiny."

.....say that again.

The third sentence is quite interesting to me. In the book of sorrow, Oryx said something like "it's because you gave us your larvae that we are now being consumed by them". I understand this as the worms never give freebies. So if the statement "Worm Give Guardian" is true, Gardians WILL pay the price. It's just a matter of time...

The chisel is a continuation of the Hive cultural practice of taking two opposite concepts and binding them into one: the pen, and the sword.

An explanation I saw for third encounter before the vault was opened I think fits better - namely, that Rhulk primarily configured this security system to keep out Savathun after she trapped him.

Since that would've been before she was free of her worm, she would've been forced to lie. Inputting lies to the vault causes it to damage the one trying to open it (aka break the bosses shields), so it would've hurt Savathun to lie and her worm would hurt her if she didn't.

Illuminating the lie, angers the pyramid. If you use a lie for the rest of the dungeon, it punishes you. Incinerating everything the pyramid has line of sight on is a punishment but we can use it to our advantage. That being said, Akka isn't giving us anything freely. If she gave us the chisel, it is with a monumental debt we shouldn't underestimate

Ughhhhhh Debrah’s VA and her level of pure rage at being tricked and lied to in her very own throne world

I kept screaming it from the mountains back in WITCHQUEEN. In one of her "Altars of Reflection", Savathun plays the "2 Truths, 2 Lies" game and she tells us that we'll gain the "Power to Take"

I think you missed the whole back wall of the vault room being covered in runes, as if new tablets were attempted to be written. One of the runes looks a lot like nezarac too.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how cool Akka’s gimmick of literally destroying truth with their words is. Man I wish there was more lore on the other worms.

Also, on the subject of Akka maybe having some form of emotional attachment to the dead worms… the interactions between the echo of Oryx and the rest of the hive pantheon kinda suggests that for all their waffling about the sword logic, they still may not be emotionally prepared for the reality of loosing people they care about. (e.g. Xivu going against the sword logic by just wanting her brother back, Oryx’s younger self not understanding why he would avenge his son, etc). It’s possible that a similar thing applies to the worms.

The heightened existence you theorize is being sought after sounds a lot like the state of being nezarec already has

This has massive implications for what will happen this season, you do NOT bring in the thing used to create the tablets of ruin, some of the most important artifacts in the entire universe unless the creation of a new tablet is on the table

I did always wonder to myself: How did Oryx carve the Tablets of Ruin? And Sundered Doctrine answered that with the damn Chisel of Oryx

Imagine if the dread were able to get the chisel and use it to contact the Winnower. They are looking for a strong will/mind to wield them and change them and the Winnower is that by definition. It would technically give the Winnower an army to wield directly for the first time ever.
Also, IF we claim this tool and claim the dreadnaught to travel the universe like the leaks, it could be a VERY interesting tool to use on our trip.

Akka, Akka (yes, Oryx)
Telling truth? (No, Oryx)
Telling lies? (No, Oryx)
