i LOVE how simplified gege artstyle is, yet how good it looks. I always use his panels when i start learning arts back then and became obsessed with it.

Just finished watching the video. Even though the art of JJK was still solid, I always felt like something was off during Shinjuku Showdown that I was unable to vocalize and you did that perfectly. W video

I always felt like geges modern art style is his best but only when he has time to fully draw panels. His older art style still worked for me even in less detailed panels

it might not be worth a full video but i think its interesting seeing gege’s fingerprints in modulo
like he clearly storyboarded most if not all of it and let the artist handle the rest, but it still very much feels like his work. maybe thats a no-brainer but i think its pretty cool

personally the best the modern art style of jjk ever look is from the culling game arc sure the line are thinner and the face is blocky but it doesn't hinder the art at all imo. also i like it when gege draw faces at weird angle it look natural as shi

man.. i can't imagine if we got Shinjuku Arc with Shibuya Arc Quality 😭

I love everything about the late artstyle, except for the wide chin.
Personally i find it so ugly how their faces became so square, Yuji looks like freedy fazbear in the thumbnail

I used to have a theory for why Gege's art for why his art style changed so differently: Gege uses rounder heads and jawlines to show the age of the character, which is why later one in the series (Culling game and Shinjuku showdown) characters like Yuji, Yuta, and Megumi look more mature .
Clearly thats debunked but Gege's art is still great

I got into jjk because of it's art, bought a random manga volume to look at and admire the art, read it in a single sitting and was hooked lol

I feel just about the same about the new style. Doesn't quite have the same charm, but when it excels it REALLY excels

hella respect for giving the criticisms and praise, gege da goat

yea i think post shibuya til about hakari vs kashimo was my favorite stretch of gege art its an almost perfect mix of geges blockiness that he displays near the end of the series with the expressiveness he displays during shibuya and even HI
