Tracey Ullman is one of the greatest talents of all time.

The Simpsons is where I first heard of Tracey Ullman. I always think of The Simpsons when I hear her name.

In an interview, Dan Castellaneta said that he mimicked Walter Matthau's voice for Homer initially, but it was too difficult to maintain it.

This title is total click bait. Tracey was NEVER Marge Simpson and never says she was in this interview, she just does an impression of Julie Kavner, who voices Marge. False title!!

I love her hair. It's going gray, but she's not ashamed of it and it still looks gorgeous.

Tracey Ullman is what an actor ought to be: take a trope and make it flesh. She is utterly good she is.

Tracey Ullman hated The Simpsons-skits, she wanted the 'cartoon bits' off her show. When it spun off and became a hit she wanted credit as being part of the success and sued for money. She failed epicly.

i remember it well, shorts, crudely draw, but so original they became the star of the show, it blew up.   i couldn't get enough of it.

Yes, we remember.  Some of us actually remember reading Life in Hell before the Simpsons started.  I wish Tracey's show had lasted longer.

All I heard from Simpsons people is that Tracey Ullman hated having The Simpsons on her show and thought it "took focus away" from her. :/

3:25 she impersonated Julie Kavner so well it was so hilarious.

I was still in highschool when her show was on. I do remember the beginning of the Simpsons very well. Tracey Ullman is a funny lady.

Ha ha, makes me feel old that I actually remember all this. (Of course, Tracy wasn't ever Marge, Julie always was, but it's wild to think most people may not know how it got started)

Tracey does everyone brilliantly

Am I missing something? She doesn't say she's the original Marge, she says Julie (and Dan Castellaneta), who worked on the Tracy Ullman Show, volunteered to do it. That's Julie Kavner who still voices Marge today.

another shot of Ullman not hiding her gray hair....outstanding and beautiful.

All of the people she portrayed on her HBO show were fabulous.

When my uncle got his OBE, my grandfather said it stood for 'Other Bugger's Efforts'.

She has never gotten enough credit for launching something that two decades later is still going strong, AND she is still as beautiful and funny as ever.
