When I was a little Child my father ask Rickson for an autograph for me. I don't remember much things that day because I was really young, like 3 years old. But my father has good memories because Rickson treated him with so much respect, like a true man
damn I did not expect to see Rickson cry in this video. He is my hero, I've been following his family and their art since 2006 when I started BJJ. I revere him and the warrior path so deeply. SO grateful I found this video!
A great documentary..Blessings to Rickson, I know what it is like to lose a child having lost my daughter in 2017. The way back is through love but it is still a tough road. Rickson is a legend in the BJJ/MMA world but most of all, he's a man with a philosophy and spirit that he's attempted to pass on to many.
I met Rickson and Rorion around 1990 3 years before little brother Royce dominated the ufc in 93. My brother in law was training with them. At Mt sisters ore wedding party we spoke about Gracie jiujitsu which I'd nevet heard of but I was extremely impressed. He has an incredible aura about him. I mentioned Judo Gene and Rickson was very respectful. I saw them again at the wedding, then about 2 years later I ran into him surfing in north Malibu county. We surfed 2 days together and I was taken back st his stoic humility..a true Samurai warrior. He asked me to come to train with him at his Pacific Palisades gym but it didn't work out. I wish I hadn't said no it's too far.
30 : 31 😥 God continue to give you strength to carry on, a very painful loss 💔 I don't know you rickson but always admired you from my younger years after watching choke. You and Muhammad Ali. God loves you brother, continue living & stay blessed 🙏
