I must say, your hard and diligent work is such a rich help and blessing to all of us who are trying to get our feet wet on subjects like the vw tranny....especially to guys like me who are under 40 and weren't old enough to work on these buggies back in their hayday of the 70s/80s. I really appreciate the sharing of your knowledge and experiences. I've built a few engines over the years, but thanks to you, I'm inspired to finally tackle some of my transmission collection. Thanks and God bless you buddy!

I have a pro street t1 bug gearbox. Running a lot of power. It’s just started making a rumbling noise only under load in all gears. It’s swing axle. Have you seen the diff bearings fail? They’re quite big bearings but is this possible?

4.27.2023 lots of good info here .
I didn't catch why you think the case is bad (?) .
I'm trying to find a video on how to R & R the big main shaft bearing when it's a little noisy but the tranny works and shifts well .
TIA,
-Nate

Hay EzGz are there many special tools required for the box . Iv asked the outlet Vw supplier for a overhaul kit but they said does not exist and directed me to let someone else fix the box , price $6000 no way not happening. It’s only notchie in 1 and2 would that be synchro rings? Thanks Harry
