Gravity is a beauty. Especially when ‘used and abused’ with such class and smoothness 🔥🙌 always loved Colombini. And I’m this world governed by edited shorts and over-the-top cardistry (a circus show rather than a magical one really…but hey, our kids seem to prefer that nowadays 🤷‍♂️), it is refreshing to watch real magic, without any fancy moves that actually are detrimental to the magical effect because they advertise the magician’s sleight expertise, which is precisely what any real magician shouldn’t do…
Magic is about simple and effective. Any sleight should be mastered enough to be HIDDEN.
If you’re going to do 10 fancy cuts before asking for a spectator to choose a card, they will immediately know you’re skilful enough to force that card and therefore, will lose interest in the magical climax.
Colombini is a master at simplifying things in order to maximising the climax (which doesn’t mean at all that his routines are ‘simple’, far from it). Sometimes, less is MORE. And he is a bit like Jay Sankey…simplicity serving magic…
