Nobody was even close to him back then. He's still a monster to this day.

I will never forget the first time I heard Rising Force. OMG

I don't believe there has ever been another human on the planet who exerted such effortless control over a guitar as Yngwie did in this era. Absolutely ridiculous, in the very best way.

At the ripe old age of 21 years. Amazing.

Yngwie - the man, the myth, the legend. Saw him open for AC/DC on the Flick of the Switch tour. Never before or since have I seen a virtuoso completely dominate like Yngwie did.

He's full on the whole show --

I was just starting 9th grade when my buddy jumped on the bus and put his walkman headphones on me and said "you got to here this guy Yngwie" and it was his Trilogy album. It was 1986 and the album just came out - I was hooked.

I remember some people back then would criticize Yngwie for playing “gibberish”. l finally realized that their ears could not keep up and the notes would run together.
I named my dog Yngwie because it was unique and he turned out to be the best I could have asked for.

I love how the members of Alcatrazz try to keep up to his standards, but simply cannot.
One thing is for sure... There is no question of who the Star is in this band!
Either case Yngwie's stuff is the heaviest stuff Alcatrazz ever made.

I'm not a super Yngwie fan boy but, come on, his picking and legato are just so fast, smooth and precise.

Everything you said is so true! He makes it look effortless.

There have been literally thousands of his clones, including pros, but not a single player comes close to this era's Yngwie; beautiful tone, flawless improvisation, perfect pitch control, emotional play, while running and throwing around the guitar. Really, he does not play one bad pitch note. Every single note was beautiful.

Saw him live in the 80’s. In Chicago.
With a band called Talas -bassist Billy Sheehan. That was an amazing show. 🤘🏼🎸🎼🤘🏼

I'll See the Light Tonight was the first song I heard from Yngwie. It blew me away. I went out and bought everything I could find on the guy. No one could touch him back then and he knew it. I still love him today, but I wish he played with the fire that he had back then.

First saw him live when he opened for Maiden back in '87. What an awesome show!

He's the best and he's untouchable...has the total package: Speed, Emotion, Flair, Passion, Dominating stage presence, Ultra technical technique but very relaxed and effortless and the unique "Vintage" vibe which I dont see on others..he's like Jimi Hendrix on steroids. Other's only have speed
but no emotion, while other's have emotion but lacks the technical fire power...Yngwie has everything...the maestro is the ultimate shred King.🤘🔥

Was and remain a HUGE Alcatrazz fan of those early days. One of my faves, is "Disturbing The Peace". Many are not fans such big fans of Graham Bonnet, but his "Will You Be Home Tonight" is about as good as he gets. Now, onto your analysis.. :popcorn-yellow-striped-smile:
