La Crónica Oscura
12,393 views
The Miyazawa family murders are one of Japan's most shocking unsolved crimes. In this episode of The Dark Chronicle, we revisit what happened that night in 2000 in the Setagaya neighborhood, when an entire family was attacked in their own home. Despite all the evidence the assailant left behind—fingerprints, DNA, and clothing—their identity remains a mystery.
Over the years, more than 240,000 police officers have participated in the investigation, making it one of the most extensive in the country. Even so, no one has been able to answer the key questions: Who entered the Miyazawa home? Why did they act so calmly? And what explains why, with so many clues, there is still no identified suspect?
In this episode, we analyze the confirmed facts, the most discussed theories, and the enormous impact this crime had on Japanese society.
