"The truth shall set you free" Yeah but it can also absolutely ruin you in ways you can't even imagine.

Laura Palmer's realization is so visceral, so (appropriately) full of horror. It's devastating to watch and it's one of the most intense moments I've ever seen in any movie.

Laura Palmer will always be one of the most tragic and heartbreaking characters in my opinion and her realization that her father is the one who has been SA'ing her will always destroy me. I honestly think Sheryl Lee deserved an Oscar for her role as Laura Palmer in FWWM and I will die on this hill. Such an incredibly powerful performance by Lee.

Holy crap. You've actually watched these films as opposed to all the many channels who just read off an AI synopsis of the plot. Subbed and happy to do so. Great video.

I think "The Mist" deserves a mention on this topic. That one is so mean it almost becomes kinda funny

Oldboy is just a horrendously fucked situation

The one of Laura has always affected me so deeply. I have a father like Leland, not as bad/illegal as him, but very similar to him. It just perfectly captured that realization that the person you’re supposed to be able to depend on as a child, your parent, is a danger to you, they’ve forfeited their role as your protector to become an aggressor. Who else are you supposed to turn to, this is who you’re meant to be able to trust more than anyone in the world. I can’t describe the feeling, but that scene gets the despair across pretty well.

The twist of Incendies shooked me in a way even Old Boy's twist didn't. That gasp lives rent free in my head.

I always thought, and still think that in the Vanishing what is truly horrifying for the main protagonist is not his own death, but finding that Saskia died in such a way. He was madly in love, so her death in such a way is more harrowing than his own demise

I knew there was just no way Incindies was not in this video. First time a film genuinely left me without words.

Even though I obviously knew exactly who Bob was already from watching the first two seasons of Twin Peaks, Laura’s visceral reaction to this realization fucking gutted me when I first saw it. There was this feeling that somewhere, deep down inside, she always knew, yet that truth was far too horrifying to even consider. Up until the very moment where she came face-to-face with it. And even then, she still tried her best to deny it.

The thumbnail already has me mentally preparing myself

After watching the Sixth Sense, it was clear in The Others that the servants were dead already. Feeling smug about that made it a million times more shocking when you got to the end of the movie and got the entire story!

The Others will always be my favourite film. The acting, direction, cinematography, score...It's a cinema masterpiece.

The "She's my daughter ... she's my sister" scene in Chinatown is a great one. The look of horror and sorrow on Jack Nicholson's face when he realizes what has happened is unforgettable. Plus, John Huston plays one of the most morally repugnant characters in cinema.

laura's realization genuinely haunts me to the point where i see bob in the dark and in my nightmares 😭

The look on Simone's face and her gasp as she gets the realization haunts my dreams. Such a wonderful performance of such a horrific reveal. Genius.

Suprised no one is talking about Primal Fear in these comments.
Richard Gere just standing in silence as the credits start rolling is truly crushing. There isn’t any redemption, the movie is just over.

The ending of the movie The Orphanage 2007 is one of the most heartbreaking, visceral experiences with a movie I've ever been through. When the mom finds her missing son dead in the secret basement of the orphanage they were staying in, she takes a whole bottle of pills to die and be with her son and the dead orphans in the afterlife. At the very end, her husband goes to the orphanage grieving the loss of his wife and son. Then the door opens up, as if by ghosts, and he smiles intent on seeing them again.
